Winged keys are the bewitched flying keys that guards a passage to the chamber where the Philosopher's Stone is kept or hidden. It was darted and dived so quickly so it was almost impossible to catch one. One of these is the right key to open the locked door that can't be open with Alohomora spell, the door for the next chamber which is the chamber of the bewitched giant Chessboard. The key they need was described as old-fashioned one and probably silver with bright blue wings.
