Wild rice is a kind of unruly rice. When a lit candle was poorly transfigured into a purple rabbit that ran away from the Transfiguration class, Harry Potter was put in charge of finding it. When asking help from Professor Sprout, she said she could not help him, as she was busy taming some wild rice. [1]
