A wheelchair was a device designed to allow a person unable to walk to move around.[1] It was a chair with a wheel on either side, which could be propelled by the user manually spinning the wheels, or by being pushed from behind by a walking person.[1]

Stephen Hawking, the author of A Brief History of Time, had to use a wheelchair as a result of being paralysed by the degenerative condition Lou Gehrig's disease.[2]

A wheelchair could be built in Poppy Pomfrey's office.[3]
