A wheelchair is a device designed that allows a person unable to walk to move around.[1] It consists of a chair with a wheel on either side, which could be propelled by the user manually by spinning the wheels, or by being pushed from behind by a walking person.[1]


Stephen Hawking, the author of A Brief History of Time, had to use a wheelchair as a result of being paralysed by the degenerative condition Lou Gehrig's disease.[2]

A wheelchair could be built in Poppy Pomfrey's office.[3]

In his old age, Amos Diggory used a wheelchair.[4]
