Wellington is the capital city and second most populated urban area of New Zealand.[1]

It is the seat of the New Zealand Ministry of Magic. The Ministry's Headquarters houses pieces of Maori art from the 17th century depicting white wizards on Broomsticks. It's believed that these may depict members of an expedition of European herbologists playing Quidditch, as observed by indigenous Maori tribesmen. The Ministry has put considerable resources into keeping such art out of the hands of Muggles.[2]
