- "Hey look! Ginny's over by the Puffskein patch. Why don't you go and chat to her? She's been a bit shy lately — I wonder why? I'm off to see what dad's up to."
- — Ronald Weasley to Harry Potter in August 1992[src]
The Puffskein patch was where the Weasley family kept their pet Puffskein.
History[]
Before going to Hogwarts School, Ginny Weasley spent quite a bit of time in this enclosure making sure her older twin brothers, Fred and George, did not use the family pet as a Bludger during Quidditch practice, to avoid the potential of it being injured or killed.[1]
Description[]
It was a large enclosure with many wild bushes, which housed a single Puffskein.
Behind the scenes[]
- In the PS1 version of the video game adaptation of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, during the training sequence of the game in The Burrow, Harry Potter was required to enter here to met Ginny. In exchange for a Famous Witches and Wizards Card, Ginny requests Harry to feed their sleeping pet Puffskein. The player must wake and guide the Puffskein to the bushes to rapidly eat them, which it will give one Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans after consuming each bush. Once it eats five out of the fourteen bushes in the patch, Harry will receive his award from Ginny. The player can allow it to produce more beans from eating the bushes.
- Similar to the Hogwarts Puffskein patch in the video game adaptation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, the Puffskein can grow to a huge size after eating multiple bushes, and the effect can be reversed by attacking it with the Knockback Jinx. Unlike the previous game, there are no warmers in this patch to trap and defeat it, as this particular Puffskein belongs to the Weasley family and is not directly from the wild.
