- Harry Potter: "I can help, some of it’s my mess."
- Molly Weasley: "No, Harry, dear, I’d much rather you helped Arthur muck out the chickens..."
- — Molly Weasley to Harry Potter[src]
These chickens were owned by the Weasley family and kept at The Burrow.[1] They lived in their house outside The Burrow. In the year 1997, they were moved away because the Delacour family arrived to the wedding of Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour.[2]
History
- "Oh, good, you’ve fed the chickens. We’d better shut them away again before the men arrive tomorrow..."
- — Molly Weasley planning the Wedding of William Weasley and Fleur Delacour[src]
In July 1997, Molly Weasley asked Harry Potter to help Arthur Weasley muck out the chicken coop, but there was very little to do for the chickens because Arthur was using the coop to store the remains of Sirius Black's motorbike. After the arrival of the Delacour family, Harry, Ron and Hermione volunteered to feed the chickens to escape the overcrowded house, but were soon approached by Mrs Weasley, who wanted to discuss arrangements for the wedding.[2]
In April 2020, The Burrow was mentioned as an important historical site in a travel guide titled One Hundred Historical Sites from the Second Wizarding War, leading to a massive influx of tourists visiting the house and a resulting Calamity surge focused on it and its residents. Ron sent Arthur a box of Decoy Detonators in an attempt to scare off the tourists, but they only managed to startle the chickens, who covered Arthur in feathers and pecked him relentlessly.[4]
