A washing machine is a Muggle device used to wash one's clothes. The Dursley family owned a washing machine. Arthur Weasley managed to procure one of these devices prior to 1992 and attempted to enchant it; however, he only managed to turn it hostile and cause it to spit powerful blasts of water at passersby.[1]
On 27 July, 1997, Tonks perched on the Dursley family's washing machine when she and others arrived at 4 Privet Drive to begin the Seven Potters operation.[2]
