Harry Potter: "Wand Weighing?"
Ludo Bagman: "We have to check that your wands are fully functional, no problems, you know, as they’re your most important tools in the tasks ahead"
Ludo Bagman explains the ceremony to Harry Potter.[src]

The wand weighing ceremony was a traditional part of the Triwizard Tournament, designed to ensure that all champions' wands were in perfect functioning condition for the three Tasks ahead.

During the 1994 tournament staged at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the Wand Weighing was officiated by British wandmaker, Mr. Ollivander. Before the ceremony started, Harry Potter met Rita Skeeter for the first time and she interviewed him inside a broom cupboard near the classroom where the ceremony was held.
