The wand weighing ceremony was a traditional part of the Triwizard Tournament to ensure that all Champion's wands were in perfect functioning condition for the 3 Tasks ahead.
During the 1994 tournament staged at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the Wand Weighing was officiated by British wandmaker, Mr. Ollivander. Before the ceremony start, Harry Potter met Rita Skeeter for the first time and she interviewed him inside a broom cupboard in the classroom where the ceremony is held.
