A Wand Weigher is a brass instrument used to identify the wand's length, core material, and the length of time it has been used. One of these devices sits at the Security Desk in the Ministry of Magic Atrium. When a visitor enters the Ministry, they have to register their wand at the Security Desk, and this instrument is used. It is unknown if it survived the Duel in the Ministry Atrium as the Security Desk was set afire when hit with a Killing Curse.
