Wakefield's Sambata was apparently a spell that required a twelve-step dance to cast. The Quibbler published an illustrated guide on how to perform this spell in its "Spell Steps of the Week" column in 1996. It was invented by Wakefield.

Etymology

Sambata is a Finnish verb meaning "to dance the samba."[1] The samba is a Brazilian ballroom dance.[2]

  • This is a reference to graphic designer Lauren Wakefield, who worked on Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and the following two films.[3]
