Vikram Thakur was a Slytherin[2]student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the 1990s. He competed in the school Gobstones tournament during the 1996–1997 school year.
Etymology
The name "Vikram" means "stride, pace" or "valour" in Sanskrit. This is another name of the Hindu god Vishnu. This was also the name of a semi-legendary 1st-century BC king (full name Vikramaditya) of Ujjain in India. The surname "Thakur" is a North Indian surname and a title which means "lord".
