Vikram Thakur was a wizard and a Slytherin[4] student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the 1990s. He competed in the school Gobstones tournament during the 1996–1997 school year.[3]
Etymology[]
The name "Vikram" means "stride, pace" or "valour" in Sanskrit. This is another name of the Hindu god Vishnu. This was also the name of a semi-legendary 1st-century BC king (full name Vikramaditya) of Ujjain in India. The surname "Thakur" is a North Indian surname and a title which means "lord".

- This particular student was only featured in the console version of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and the Nintendo DS version of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
- Based on his name, he is most likely of Indian descent.
