The Vaults Guardian was a giant Fire Crab placed in one of the vaults of Gringotts Wizarding Bank to guard the spellbook for the Fire-Making Spell contained within. Gaining access to the vault required a special key made of five different coloured gemstones.
Behind the scenes
- In the GBA version of the video game adaptation of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter had to defeat this creature to learn the Fire-Making Spell and clear the cobwebs blocking the entrance to his vault.
