To recommend the deletion of an article is not offensive at all. It is my opinion that Harry Potter's scar should not get its own article. If you disagree, there is a place for making your case for why the article should not be deleted (Category talk:Candidates for deletion) — and that is the correct place for this kind of discussion. If I read your arguments, perhaps I would even end up agreeing with you.
You should read the policy on personal attacks. My opinion that an article may need to be deleted is neither personal nor an attack. You should assume good faith. On the other hand, I don't appreciate being accused of treating new users unfairly just because I have an opinion that happens to differ from yours. Oread 20:53, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
I thought I would let you know that I now agree we should keep the Harry Potter's scar article; you've added some great quotes and other material. I moved it back to its original title because "lightning scar" sounds as if it is a scar caused by lightning. If the title was going to be based on the appearance of the scar, it would have to be "Lightning bolt-shaped scar". "Harry Potter's scar" is the most specific. Oread 05:28, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
Ah, I'd forgotten about the scars on his hand. Still, "lightning scar" makes it sound as if it is a scar resulting from the person being struck by lightning. "Lightning-bolt shaped scar" would be techincally correct, but rather clunky as a title. Do you have any other ideas? If not, I think it should be left per your original title, since the scars Harry got from Umbridge's blood quill don't need their own article (the incident is detailed in the Blood Quill article, and they're not nearly as important in the scheme of the series as the forehead one). Thank you for your kind words! I still think you've done by far the most work on the article. :) Oread 17:36, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for the kind message. It is always good to see new contributors joining our little community here. However, I must ask you to remove the Administrator userbox from your userpage - these are reserved for the elected administrators of this site, and may only serve to confuse other users. If it is not removed, I will remove it myself. Thank you for your cooperation. - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 15:24, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
I have listed the above article for deletion as per the initial reasons made by Oread. The template should not have been removed by yourself until a chance to discuss the issue was made. Please feel free to voice your opinions on the matter. - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 15:41, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
Clicking on "mischief managed" will not log you out, or delete your account. It is there so that you can remove the text that says "The Harry Potter Wiki reveals plot details about the series. Oh you don't have to make me any. I was just kidding around. I think I know how to make them anyway. I just like seeing the surprise of new ones on people's pages. Thanks anyway.

Acts of vandalism include - blanking pages of content, inserting false information into articles, inserting fanon into articles, inserting nonsense/gibberish into articles, inserting information of a graphical/sexual nature, uploading images of a graphical/sexual nature, personal attacks on community members, and others. Rollback is used to counter these edits quickly, and rollback rights can only be issued by bureaucrats. You can request rollback on this page. - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 12:38, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
Hi there. I've noticed you've recently started adding clips from You-Tube to some pages. I'm not a hundred percent sure, but this might violate Copyright in some cases. You should ask one of the administrators about it before adding any more. Oread 20:46, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the reminder. --You-Know-Who 20:48, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
No problem, you deserved it! yes, any user can give another user an order of merlin or a prefect badge! sorry about my signature i'm still working on it!
Please make sure that contributions to Project Greasy Git are made to the working draft. The main article will be replaced with the draft when the project is completed, and you wouldn't want to waste your work on something that is going to be replaced.--Matoro183(Talk) 22:47, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
It seems that the article is almost done, i have nothing to add. Just correct spellings if i have found some.., and help to protect the article from those who vandalize it. --ÈnŔîčö(Send me an Owl) 03:02, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
I added Grindelwald's first name to the title for consistency reasons. In the Naming policy, we established that articles should use a character's full name and not use titles (e.g. Ronald Weasley instead of Ron Weasley; James Potter's father instead of Mr. Potter). We don't have specific guidelines for objects or symbols, true, but it seems more consistent with general policy to me to include his full name. It's also simply more specific.
I would agree with you if "Grindelwald's mark" was treated like an official name (e.g. "Dumbledore's Army" is obviously not "Albus Dumbledore's Army"; it's a proper noun and we saw it named in the books), but it seems to just be the term Viktor Krum and Harry use for what is actually the symbol of the Deathly Hallows. And if we stick strictly to what is written in the books, then the first time the symbol is named, Viktor calls it "Grindelvald’s sign". A few lines later, he calls it his "symbol". Does that mean the article could be changed to "sign" or "symbol"? I don't think so, because none of them (including "mark") are official names. Similarly, with Harry Potter's scars, we didn't call it "Harry's scars" or "Potter's scars" or so on, because the article name is conjectural.
On the subject of that article, though, I didn't want to call it "lightning-bolt shaped scar". I just didn't want to call it "lightning scar" because, grammatically, that implies that the scar was caused by lightning. "Lightning-bolt shaped scar" is grammatically correct and specific, but I thought it was too awkward a title. I wasn't sure what the article should be called. Oread 05:11, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
Hi, I know that many users have userboxes that say that they promoted a certain article to featured status and I notice you have one for promoting the order of the phoenix. does this mean that you worked on the article a lot and got it up to that status or just that you voted for it? I voted for it so depending on the meaning, I could put that userbox on there. But, I don't want to put that up there if it means I am saying I worked hard on it because I didn't....thanks in advance for any help.
~Iluvgracie129(Talk) 23:43, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
I'm just voted to promote it as a featured article, that's what i mean --ÈnŔîčö(Send me an Owl) 06:10, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

Funnily enough, I don't think so. Please disregard Dumbledore08's claim. Administrators are elected by a voting consensus of the community. - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 14:58, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
Yah! i'm aware of that. Thanks Cavalier One ;-) =) --ÈnŔîčö(Send me an Owl) 15:02, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
There's not supposed to be an article for Quick Links, right? GB57 03:24, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
I think that page is intended for the Main Page (we can see in the left corner of the page), to easily navigate this Harry Potter Wiki. --ÈnŔîčö(Send me an Owl) 03:33, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
But i noticed that this one: "Quick Links", is not existed before. And created only by a unregistered user just to put his/her definition for the Quick Links attached in the left corner of the page. I agree now, that this one should be deleted. --ÈnŔîčö(Send me an Owl) 03:37, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Okay, if you think it's relevant, feel free to revert my edit. I think that quote might be more suited to the Dark Arts or Inferi articles, though, since it says more about what Dark Wizards do than what they are. But I see your point too. Oread(talk) 23:58, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
You recently uploaded a picture. http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/File:Potion_Class_Dean_and_Seamus_Finnigan.gif.gif.
Is the double gif neccesary? If not, then I suggest you upload a copy under the name Potion_Class_Dean_and_Seamus_Finnigan.gif. Also, I was wondering if you knew about wikia's shoutbox feature. It is a chat on the wiki. To access it, go to widgets, click the right arrow till the last page and click shoutbox.--VercoolTalk To Me! 00:23, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Hey, I found out, because of leaky, that the date in America and England will be changed from the 17 of July to the 15 of july, two days earlier! I not sure how we should change the release dates on the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (film), could you? Cheers and I hope that helps the film page. -- Hellabore
