House points system
Could you make me a gryffindor prefect with the house-points system. I was given the award from Seth Cooper, an prefect. Thank-you. -- Hellabore
- Thank-you for adding me to the list! Also would you like to join Harry Potter Wiki:Harry Potter Wiki Projects/Project Wizard Tales as you would be a great memeber. -- Hellabore
Article Naming
I think you're thinking about the way articles are named incorrectly. The {{conjecture}} tag can be applied to anything that has a "made up title". I.e. if its something that is not referred that way in the books, we made up the title and it gets that tag. Hope that clears it up. -- DarkJedi613 (Talk) 23:24, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- To be clear, it doesn't matter if we know their last name or not. The title "So-and-so's mother" is a description, not a their real name so it should get the conjecture tag. -- DarkJedi613 (Talk) 23:30, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- I've always looked at the bolded words in an article's introduction as being its true title — that "Luna Lovegood's mother" is simply a way to work around the rule against honorifics in article titles, which prevents us from using "Mrs. Lovegood." I think the no-honorifics rule needs to be re-examined, because, IMHO, it often makes for article titles that sound awkward and are hard to categorize alphabetically ★ Starstuff (Owl me!) 03:49, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
- That's fair enough, but when I was referring to title above I was referring to the article title (I'll refer to thise as the "page name" from here on out) (i.e. what its stored as in the database, i.e. "Luna Lovegood's mother"), so perhaps I was a bit zealous in adding those back in. But then again -- its kind of weird to have the "page name" and the title be two different things. -- DarkJedi613 (Talk) 15:42, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

- I suppose I see the page name as being a kind of placeholder. For example, imagine there was a TV show officially titled "@shley's World," but that a store who carried DVDs of this series stocked them under "A," because their method of organization was strictly alphabetical and did not include the at sign. The title of the series would still be "@shley's World" even if you filed the DVDs under "Ashley's World." Similarly, the name of Luna's mother is Mrs. Lovegood, and and an article's title should preferably be the name of its subject, but our naming conventions don't allow us to include honorifics in article titles. We use "Luna Lovegood's mother" as a way to work within the system we've established. ★ Starstuff (Owl me!) 07:44, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

House Points Game
Hey, Star...I've noticed that no one has signed up to Hufflepuff for the house points game recently. So I'm going to go ahead and switch to Gryffindor, so it has two prefects. I'll change what I can, but can you fix the Hourglass code? I can't quite get it. --Cubs Fan2007 (Message me) 05:00, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
Hufflepuff Prefect
I've noticed that no one has signed up to be a Hufflepuff prefect. Do you think it would be Ok if I did? Just in order to get the game rolling. Jayce Carver
Talk 10:08, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I'd be fine with that. I only suggested being a Hufflepuff Prefect becuse I noticed that there wasn't one. Slytherin works fine for me. Jayce Carver

Slytherin Dungeon
Hey, Starstuff. Would you like discuss ways in which we could make our common room more visually pleasing? At your conveiance of course, cheers. Jayce Carver
Talk 08:55, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Silly is always good. Your right that we should ask first so as not to cause offense. I did'nt have anything particularly in mind for the common room, exept this image which I found, maybe usefull at some point. I thought I might make a sandbox on my usepage that we could both put ideas into. What do you think?
Ah, OK. Sorry about that I didnt realise. Jayce Carver

No problem. I'm lacking inspiration myself right now. I'll see if I can come up with something tommorow. Jayce Carver
