Project badge

At the moment, I am thinking more of a badge in the style of our Prefect awards. One will be awarded to a members to show their inclusion in the Project, and another will be created at the end of the Project to reward them for all their hard work. Nothing fancy, just something along the lines of "Member of Project <projectname>" and "This user contributed to Project <projectname>". I was going to run up some ideas over the weekend. - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 11:02, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Project Scarhead

If they can do it, why not us?

The latest on Project Scarhead!
Welcome to Project Scarhead! Okay, firstly, thank you for signing up. We have a big job to do, but hopefully, with so many hands we can get the job done. Basically put, the Harry Potter article is our main article - he's the series lead and the main focus of the books. As such, he should also be our biggest and best article, the kind of article we're proud to show off on the main page and tell people we did it. We will be working on a subpage, located here: User:Cavalier One/Project Scarhead. This will serve as our workplace, and all members of Project Scarhead are authorised to edit it, and I urge you all to put it on your watchlist so you can track usage. I have already rearranged the article to conform with our standard layout guide. I am suggesting tackling the article in chronological order, working through each of the seven books in turn, stopping after each book is done and reviewing the work to date. However, let me know if you wish to work on a particular sections or book and you will be accomodated. Again, welcome to Project Scarhead! Template

No difference at all. Create the template (or just steal the coding from mine) on a sub-page similar to mine and adapt it to your needs. Then just post {{Name of page with template on it}} on the relevant talk pages. The cool thing is that you can update the message on the original template and just repost the template address. - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 11:29, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thank you so much for the birthday cake! You're the best! :) --Ginny22 16:03, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Proposed "Project House Cleaning

Yes, I think that is much classier than what I came up with. Gryff23 19:43, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks! I'm hoping I do a good job! And don't worry about cluttering up my talk page... I like things nice and disorganized :) -- Freakatone Talk 19:58, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

List of Books

I created the article Fowl or Foul? A Study of Hippogriff Brutality! Thanks for telling me! :)--Ginny22 20:25, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

Retirement

Starstuff, while I understand your stance and views on the proposed new changes, I urge you not to leave just yet. I agree with you, and oppose the changes. With the response to the new changes being overwhelming negative, I am hopeful that a compromise can be reached, and the ads will be moved out of the article spaces. There are several alternatives being proposed by other users at the moment, and a lot of discussion has been happening in the IRC channels.

Of course, the discussions may come to nothing and we may have the change forced upon us. I just wanted you to know that things are being talked about, and to fill you in since I believe you are not active in the IRC channels. If you still decide to leave, then I thank you for your excellent contributions over the past months, and wish you well. - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 07:55, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

I agree, you're a great contributer and it would be a shame to lose you. Hopefully Wikia will reconsider their decisions. And, well, if not, then best of luck to you and you'll be missed. -- DarkJedi613 (Talk) 18:54, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
If the changes actually go through, the ads are not going to be added to the quartz and monobook skins. Though they are not as nice, they give non-obtrusive ad box access to the wiki.-Matoro183 (Talk) 20:12, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Well maybe if some of us put together a petition or something to tell them how this would affect other Wiki's they might reconsider. But yeah, we'll all miss you and your great contributions. Gryff23 18:27, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

I agree with you that the ads could make it more difficult, and it shouldn't be put on wikis like ours, but I think if we all just try and carry on, we'll get used to it. I also agree with Gryff23, I think a petition is a good idea and I'm all in favor of it. But if you still decide to go then you've been great and will be missed. Palmala 13 June 21:04

So I was just wondering if you definitely decided not to come back or what? Hope to hear back from you. -- DarkJedi613 (Talk) 00:44, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Some unexpected difficulties were sent my way over the summer — mainly home repairs — and it's been hard trying to sort everything out. I left pretty abruptly, I know, and didn't come back to check on the ad situation, but events in my life forced me to put a lot of stuff on the back burner. It's touching to see all the kind words that were left for me. :) As for the ads, Freakatone is right, logging in takes care of the problem. I see some changes have been made around here, too, most notably to the convention that is used to title articles. Any other major policy changes of which I should be aware? -Starstuff 15:10, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Welcome back! The only policy change that I can think of can be seen at Forum:Middle names. -- Freakatone Talk 19:58, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Thanks! Yeah, that's the policy change I was referring to above. It's good to see that the HP Wiki has finally settled on a simple and consistent titling convention for articles. :) -Starstuff 20:12, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

What?

You can leave, but don't! But I kind of agree with you to stop contributing. I mean, what's going to happen? P.S. Where is your username from? I read about starstuff in a book before. --Ginny22 15:04, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Wikia's changed it's mind (well, sort of)

Just thought I'd let ya know that Wikia has decided to remove the ads as long as you are a registered user. You can see the discussion here. Again, just thought I'd let ya know. Thanks. -- Freakatone Talk 21:58, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
