Sirius Black I

See? Told you it was possible. --HarryPotterRules1 (talk) 15:29, August 17, 2015 (UTC)

Quirrell

Hey there, do you know on which page Quirinus Quirrell has been mentioned in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix? --Station7 (talk) 11:19, November 3, 2015 (UTC)

Disambiguation

Confusion Corner

Hi, have some chemical sensitivities so my sentences are probably worse than yours so don't worry. I am trying to get the first names in alphabetical order so if any names are deleted tell me. <3

There seems to be a lot of similarities between the Lima and the Limus families - and the latter might need a disambiguation. Leaving it to the mods to sort it out.

LIMUS - E Limus (film), Eduardus Limus (film), Miro Limus (empty),

E Lima (film), E Limus (film),

- Eduardus Limette Black, Eduardus Lima (film), Eduardus Lima (film), Eduardo Lima (film), Eduardo Lima Filho (film), Edwardus Lima, Eduardus Limus (film),

MINA - M Mina (film), Miraphora Mina (film), Ruth Mina (film),

- Mina (film), Minas (film), Mina Lima (film), Minaka Takahashi (game),

- Miraphorus (film), Miraphora Mina (film), (Mina=wilhelmina)

MIRAFORUM - Ms Miraforum (film), (Vaudree (talk) 21:02, November 28, 2015 (UTC))

RE:Forums

I'll go and give it a read. While we're at it, I'm trying to resurrect Selected Pictures -- go ahead and have a look at the new nominations that have been put up, and cast your vote! --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 19:43, December 20, 2015 (UTC)

James (Hufflepuff Quidditch player)

Hello! Do you think you could upload a scan from the Character Vault book, showing the concept art featuring the James fellow? Thanks! --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 01:33, January 4, 2016 (UTC)

Eagle hat?

Did you actually see the eagle hat somewhere on Pottermore? Because all I'm seeing is an infographic with a picture of a curve intended to represent Luna's head a clip-art-ish graphic of an eagle. If that's what you're referencing, I'm not sure that's really something worth using as an image for the page here. ProfessorTofty (talk) 19:54, February 9, 2016 (UTC)

re: Delete tag

I don't think this would require consensus (considering the few users who are actually editing regularly), but I went ahead and created a forum thread for discussion (which I doubt will get much activity). --Sajuuk 09:47, February 10, 2016 (UTC)

Shouldn't characters killed under the direct orders of Voldemort count as Voldemort killing them? Directly telling/ordering someone to kill another person also makes the former the killer too. Otherwise, Snape and Myrtle wouldn't be in the category.

Thanks!

Thanks for catching that vandal. Was reverting the vandalism at the same time as you used rollback. Again, thanks! --Sajuuk 22:22, February 25, 2016 (UTC)

Mispell

There is a mispell on the summoning charm page. It's outmanoeuvre. I tried to edit it but you edited it back.http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Summoning_Charm

Discussion on forums

Hey there Rodolphus! I'm sending this post out to a number of active contributors of the HPW. I'm looking to find out your opinions on this proposal, which could help to improve the community aspect of the HPW and bring in more editors to the wiki. Please leave your opinions on that topic when you get the chance. Thanks! --Sajuuk 15:05, March 24, 2016 (UTC)

The 90s

I think it has everything to do with the time period (to distinguish what's going on in the muggle world in those times), and an interesting (brief) note that I'm sure fans would very much appreciate. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by ParadisecityXO (talkcontribs).

Archives

I've taken the liberty of archiving your talkpage, since it was getting extremely long (and laggy as well) I've also left links at the top of the talkpage so you can find them easily. --Sajuuk 19:31, April 5, 2016 (UTC)

No worries. Since we don't have any automatic JS tool to simplify the process of creating archives, it's easy to forget to do them. :) --Sajuuk 19:39, April 5, 2016 (UTC)

DNFTT

User:ParadisecityXO's only contribution before those she recently made to the 1990s article was drive-by vandalism of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in July of last year. I didn't catch this vandalism until January, and thus chose not to impose a block on ParadisecityXO at the time, as the vandalism was a one-off occurrence and she hadn't returned to cause any trouble since.

But, now that she's returned strictly to try to edit war off-topic and completely subjective content into an article, it's clear we're dealing with someone who has no interest in contributing constructively to this wiki. Starstuff (Owl me!) 01:43, April 6, 2016 (UTC)

Date fixes

Thanks for help with cleaning up the date pages! I've been trying to reduce the redundant info stored on both the decade and the year pages and make the events easier to review. There are a lot of date ranges (eg After 1955, Before, Between, Circa) that have been listed as specific year events so I appreciate the help in clearing things up! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ironyak1 (talkcontribs).

ref question

Yo. A user added a quote to a reference, which I removed since it's not necessary. What's your opinion on adding direct quotes from canonical sources into reference tags? --Sajuuk 12:14, April 17, 2016 (UTC)

Chat?

I'll probably get flak from some people for asking, but I was just wondering if you could join it (if you do join chat that is :P). --Sajuuk 18:29, May 9, 2016 (UTC)

If not able to join chat, then just wondering if you could post on this topic regarding the bot rights. I'm gonna scratch out the request for sysop rights, as that's not gonna happen. --Sajuuk 11:15, May 10, 2016 (UTC)

Link Templates

Hi Rodolphus - I'm hoping you might be able to take a look at the Forum - Link Template discussion. SuperSajuuk and I have spent some time working on some templates to act as short codes for the common articles seen in Appearances and Reference sections. The idea is to provide short codes with options that are easy to read and that users can quickly type:

or more complicated, but saving alot of typing

Given your extensive experience here, I'd love to hear you thoughts and whether you'd find these understandable and useful. Many thanks! --Ironyak1 (talk) 01:07, May 14, 2016 (UTC)

Policy discussions

I recently opened a couple of discussions on the Wizengamot forum proposing changes to policy. The first proposal concerns adding new guidelines on the listing of family members in character infoboxes to HPW:CIFG. The second proposal concerns updating our formal policy on the use of copyrighted material (such as screenshots from the films) to bring it into line with current practice. If you have time, feel free to check out these discussions, and contribute your thoughts and suggestions. Starstuff (Owl me!) 00:06, May 18, 2016 (UTC)

Cow + Bull = Cattle

Found time to wrangle together Cattle - please check Cow & Bull to make sure I didn't miss anything before they are removed. Cheers --Ironyak1 (talk) 08:12, May 25, 2016 (UTC)

I don't see a species infobox in Category:Infobox_templates - is it missing from here or does not exist yet? --Ironyak1 (talk) 08:35, May 25, 2016 (UTC)

Ooops. It is called creature infobox, of course.--Rodolphus (talk) 08:38, May 25, 2016 (UTC)

No worries - all done (medium well ;) --Ironyak1 (talk) 08:47, May 25, 2016 (UTC)

RE Alias

Yeah, I wasn't real sure hence all the ?s but if Phlegm is out then so is Loony Lovegood. Given all the attention to the infoboxes lately, probably worth asking in forums to clarify if it's a strict Alias like you defined (self assumed) or closer to AKA (also known as) with some limitations against basic insults like filthy mudblood (but Miss Mudblood seems closer to Loony Lovegood IMO). Cheers --Ironyak1 (talk) 16:28, June 8, 2016 (UTC)

So based on the discussion here and the policy here it looks like Phlegm is ok as it appears several times in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Chapter 5 (An Excess of Phlegm). I'm guessing it's the same for Schleim? --Ironyak1 (talk) 21:59, June 8, 2016 (UTC)

Slughorn date of birth

Noticed you don't like the Late Summer note, but he has to be born after Dumbledore which means most of 1881 is out. I see this the same as you changing it from 1882, or Dumbledore having Summer 1881 for his infobox, Thoughts on how best show it's Fall 1881 - 1899? --Ironyak1 (talk) 21:13, June 10, 2016 (UTC)

lol, yeah we overlooked that :) 1882 or later it is --Ironyak1 (talk) 07:44, June 11, 2016 (UTC)
