Editing relationships

I think I edited the relationships on the Harry Potter page. I only attempt to correct grammar, I didn't change anything about Ginny and Harry. I've always been a supporter. But grammar is very important for a successul wiki article. Less distracting.

Whoever you were, next time, please remember to sign your name. And check the talk of the Harry Potter article for further elaboration of this issue. Quidditch Lover 00:53, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Hi Quidditch Lover,

You can customize the look of your signature by going to your preferences page and adding HTML/wikicode to the signature field. Make sure to check the box marked "custom signature" right below the signature field before you click save. If your signature design is complex, and you find it hard to fit all the code in the box on your preferences page, then you can create a template page called User:Quidditch Lover/sig and put your signature design code on it. Link to it by going to your preferences page and entering the code in the signature field. This will automatically copy your custom signature from your signature page every time you sign your name.

I hope this helps you. :) Starstuff (Owl me!) 23:09, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

The issue with your signature was caused by forgetting to close your tag with . I took care of that for you, so it shouldn't be a problem any more. Starstuff (Owl me!) 00:18, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

Gryffindor Quidditch try-outs

Hey there! You're a great user on this wiki, so I was wondering if you'd like to join the House points game, in my house (Gryffindor) or any other house. If you join Gryffindor, you'll be able to be on our Quidditch team by signing your name here: Quidditch Pitch. Thanks, and I hope you can join me on the team! --Margiechocoholic 07:36, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

Your wand is 14", Hawthorne with Essence of Phoenix Feather.

Your wand

Power overview: Hawthorne is extremely powerful in its ability to ward off evil from its possessor. It is also a wood known to be used as a stimulant to both men and women and is sacred to all faeries.

Hope you like it. You can insert the info and the wand pic on your user page. Cheers! -- Madam Hooch250px-Hogwarts coa(Which Broomstick)

You can only vote for two users. Just wondering whether you want to nominate yourself for rollback as I would give you my vote. Cheers and best wishes, HellaboreHallows(Deathly Hallows)
Thanks a million for voting for me anyway. -- HellaboreHallows(Deathly Hallows)

Admin voting

I have temporary struck your votes on the admin vote. This is because the rules clearly state that you can only vote for two candidates, and you voted for four. Please chose which two to vote for, and unstrike your votes under the relevant candidates. Thank you. - Cavalier OneGryffindorcrest(Wizarding Wireless Network) 07:15, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Gryffindor Quidditch Team

We have changed many of the rules in the Gryffindor Quidditch Team. Soon we will be competing againist other teams by rewriting and expanding an article that the referee,Matoro183 has chosen. The winning rewrite will recieve 40 points to their house and a trophy for the house team's pitch. When the competition starts, we will rewrite the article at User:Madam Hooch/Quidditch Practise. For more information on the competition, please read User:Hellabore/Parchment. Cheers! -- HellaboreHallows(Deathly Hallows)

Possessions:Fred Weasley

I have done the important edits. I think you will be pleased with the two more sections especially the Cleensweep one! So go on and edit! -- HellaboreHallows(Deathly Hallows)

Re: Categories

Do you mean add categories to an individual page or start a new category? You simple type at the bottom of the page. Or if you're using the new interface there is a neat little JavaScript interactive editor right above the save button. What categories were you planning on adding? Make sure its not something that's a duplicate. If I didn't answer your question feel free to respond. -- DarkJedi613 (Talk) 03:26, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

You "create" a category by adding pages to it. Its as simple as that. Then once there are pages in it you can click on the link to the category and add a brief description if you want. -- DarkJedi613 (Talk) 19:49, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
To add pages to a category you edit the page and add the category to it. I.e. if I want to make a category for all Brown haired people I would make the page Category:Brown haired people and then on a person who has brown hair, for example, Harry Potter I would add . Most of the actual category pages (i.e. Category:Brown haired people) are empty except for containing the categories its in. We just never filled in information for most of them since it would just be like: "This is a category for brown haired people," which is kind of lame. -- DarkJedi613 (Talk) 02:50, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

Re: QotW Archives

Re: Contribution Categories

Remember you can always view the source of a page (or edit it) to see how something was done! But the trick to making links to categories (and images) is to put a colon in front, such as: Category:Individuals or File:001.jpg. -- DarkJedi613 (Talk) 03:15, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Remember that you can click edit on my reply right here and see exactly what I typed in to make the above appear. Regardless what you want to do is: :Category:Individuals or :File:001.jpg. There is a colon (:) directly after the two left brackets :Category:Individuals. -- DarkJedi613 (Talk) 17:18, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
Not a big deal, just haven't had a lot of time to be on here. Sorry my explanation the first time lacked example code. -- DarkJedi613 (Talk) 22:49, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

Sig:User Yin&Yang

Hi again Quidditch Lover. I really liked your third example of a signiture style that you left on my talk page for me. Could you give me that one please? Thankyou very much. By the way, well done on your Order of Merlin, Third Class. Over one thousand edits is not a small feat!--Yin&Yang 07:11, October 4, 2009 (UTC)

Hi Quidditch Lover. Sorry about my last post to you being on my talk page. I had meant to write it here but I must have mixed something up along the line. Anyway, I tried checking the box repeatedly and it actually tells me to check the HTML code for it. If I don't check the box, then the signiture turns out the way you saw it on my talk page. Very peculiar.--Yin&Yang 07:44, October 8, 2009 (UTC)

That's okay Quidditch Lover, it's no big deal. Besides, I never really thought of changing my signiture until you suggested it so I don't mind sticking with what I've got. Thanks anyway!--Yin&Yang 06:00, October 9, 2009 (UTC)

30 points

I've awarded you 30 points on the House Points Game. Congrats! --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 18:36, November 15, 2009 (UTC)

Those were for the creation of Category:Images of Killing Curse, Category:Images needing editor assistance at upload as of unknown date 2009 and Category:Images with unknown copyright status as of unknown date 2009. Next time, check the House Points Log. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 20:34, November 15, 2009 (UTC)

I just checked my talk page and was so happy to see a message from you. Thanks! Can you tell me how to get a signature like yours? Thnx.

Hmm. What are you having trouble with? --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 12:30, November 19, 2009 (UTC)

I looked at the Room of Requirement draft on your parchment. The issue seems to be that you didn't include the Reflist template. If you don't include this template, then the references won't show up in the article, but stay hidden in the code. Starstuff (Owl me!) 08:32, November 20, 2009 (UTC)

Ted Lupin's birthday

Ted Lupin was born in April 1998. That's all we know. Pinpointing his DoB to April 11 seems to be fanon to me... --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 01:19, November 21, 2009 (UTC)

Re:Remus Lupin's glasses

I deleted the article because it didn't provide enough evidence to establish that the glasses in the picture were in fact Lupin's. What is the image's source? I don't recall seeing glasses on Lupin's desk at any point in the PoA film. Starstuff (Owl me!) 02:23, November 22, 2009 (UTC)

Re:Room of Requirement Re-Write

Hey Quidditch Lover,

I'll help out with things like proofreading, organization, and sourcing, but this is a busy time of year for me, and I'm not sure I'll be able to commit to more extensive work, like rewriting entire sections. Starstuff (Owl me!) 11:44, November 27, 2009 (UTC)

RE: Signiture

Hey thanks Quidditch Lover, I've always wondered about that! You're probably right about the ampersand (&) in my user name causing the problem. The truth is, I don't think I can change my user name and still be known as the same user on this wiki, can I? If you know of a way of doing so, could you please let me know? I'd love to have a proper signiture. Thanks a bunch!--Yin&Yang 06:23, November 30, 2009 (UTC)

Okay, thanks. I'll see if what you suggested will work.--Yin&Yang 09:28, November 30, 2009 (UTC)

Hey Quidditch Lover, I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY appreciate all your effort, but unfortunately, the HTML code you gave me didn't work either. I'm sure I did everything the right way, I mean it's just a matter of entering the code into the signiture box and checking the tick box below that, right? Please don't beat yourself up about it, though, it's no big deal. Again, thanks so much for the help! It's the thought that counts.--Yin&Yang 07:29, December 4, 2009 (UTC)

IT WORKED! Thank you so much Quidditch Lover, you are an absolute legend! I just copied the code you gave me, eliminated the spaces as you suggested, and...Yin & YangTalk to me!. Thanks for all the help and for putting in the effort like you did to help me. You deserve some House Points which I would gladly give you if I was a Prefect!--Yin & YangTalk to me! 08:24, December 5, 2009 (UTC)
