Problem with talk page link from email

Hi, Nick! I fear there is a problem with your talk page. When I got an Email that your talk page was changed and followed the path, I landed on that site: User talk:Nick O - which does not exist - and not on Nick O'Demus. I thought I should tell you.  Harry granger   Talk   contribs 17:30, April 24, 2012 (UTC)

That's the link I followed: See "" for all changes since your last visit. I got the mail because I enabled: "Email me when... ...a page I'm following is changed" in my preferences. You're an admin, so I am always interested in news and have the "Follow button" activated. Perhaps that explains and helps.  Harry granger   Talk   contribs 19:48, April 24, 2012 (UTC)

harry potter is not a half blood its right in the books —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Bear228 (talkcontribs).

I do accept the nomination.  Speedysnitch   Talk  contribs  21:37, April 24, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the warm welcome! :) and i'll certainly read the pages and policies you told me to.

Not really sure how posting a completely non-factual-based theory is vandalism, but whatever. I'm going to creepypasta. Lighten up bromigo. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Peter Bison (talkcontribs).

Hi, Nick! Two people, one thought! I wanted to put the deletion tag on Becky Graham and when I wanted to save I read that you were quicker. And we have both the same reason: FANON. Great!!!  Harry granger   Talk  contribs 18:07, May 7, 2012 (UTC)

Thank you!

Hi, Nick! Thank you for Merlin's beard and your nice words. That's great. I love this Wiki, otherwise I would not have done so much. And I hope I can do a lot more in the future.
But I have one question. Perhaps you can help me. Do you know something about the Copyright when uploading photos? I have not uploaded already, because I am never sure when it's allowed and when not. It would be a great help when you would know something about this and would tell me. Seeing forward.  Harry granger   Talk  contribs 18:23, May 7, 2012 (UTC)

Hello! Be my guest, I don't mind it at all. Oh, and it's great you asked Grunny about the awkward family tree spacing; it's been bugging me a lot, lately. Thanks. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 20:14, May 14, 2012 (UTC)

Another user has already told me that, but thank you for the link to the Fanfic wiki! Henryjh98 12:11, May 23, 2012 (UTC)

RE:Need your opinion:

I wouldn't oppose using the Noble Collection figures on articles. The Noble Collection merchandise is supposed to be faithful to the props used in the films (or, using their words, "authentic recreation[s]" of the props). If that is the case, abiding by our canon policy, they should be regarded as canon as 3rd-tier canonical information ("Other official merchandise").

The only problem I see with this is: How faithful are the Noble Collection items to the film props? We know, from observations, that Noble Collection items present, sometimes, differences from the props (i.e. the handle of Narcissa Malfoy's wand [see BTS section], or the extra room name labels on the Marauder's Map [see this article for an example]). If they are potentially conflicting with film information, then they are going against tier-2 canon and THEN they shouldn't be regarded as canon.

Still they are the only figures we can go by for many of the film wands (at this stage, at least) and I think there would be no harm in using them in articles if, and only if, the wands present no visible difference from their screen-used counterparts (which they are, in theory, modelled after) — thus excluding problematic cases like Narcissa's wand. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 17:59, June 2, 2012 (UTC)

RE:Educational Decrees

Oh, boy, not this again. All evidence points to yes, then. More than once, as you can see in several talk pages, he signed as "Danniesen" (under several IP addresses), and most of those IP addresses have been used, one way or another, to make the same edit on the non-canonical Educational Decrees articles (also, the very made some of the typical "Danniesen" article creations that used to irk Jayden so much, that add little to the wiki and most of its text is taken straight from Wikipedia; cf. Political leader).

The telltale signs are not few, although one should see to the formalities and ask Grunny to double-check it anyways. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 15:54, July 8, 2012 (UTC)

House Cup

Could there not be some sort of editorial note asking the Pottermore fanatics to stop inserting their statistics into this list of House Cup winners? Jiskran (talk) 19:39, July 10, 2012 (UTC)

Hi, a user is harassing me several wikis (Some I use most of the time and some like this I don't or rarely use) and other websites. He's been harassing me here for quite a while so can I ask you to block every IP he has. I shall give you the list,,,,,,,,,,

If you can range block them all that will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.--Brainiac Adam 11:23, July 18, 2012 (UTC)

RE:Lavender Brown

It would seem only appropriate, in my honest opinion, and that header would prevent a resurgence of "Lavender is not dead in accordance with the same old, already disproved arguments" discussions, which, quite frankly, are growing a bit tiresome. You go ahead if you want. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 19:52, July 22, 2012 (UTC)

Hi, I saw that you had re-edited the Ravenclaw Quidditch team and I just wanted to tell you that I had done some calculations and also saw that you have now edited another part of it that I had added and as you must have read what I had typed up on it, the reason for my edting is that when I saw the differences between the different Quidditch seasons I had wanted to fix them as I had thought that when Harry Potter was made the Gryffindor Seeker in his first year then Roger Davies was in his third year by then so he would have been able to be a part of the Ravenclaw Quidditch team and play as one of the chasers on the team and the colour change of the first two season banners was because they were Blue and Silver which was odd and incorrect as they were supposed to be the Ravenclaw house colours, Blue and Bronze. What is wrong with that and the other informartion I had gotten from another Wikia page on this site which was the 1995-1996 school year on the Ravenclaw Quidditch team.

Oh, I certainly will. Although I find that "Minister" would be a tad more appropriate. :P --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 00:44, July 28, 2012 (UTC)

Picture & Help with Pottermore

Hey! It's Mirlo, a new user here, but with a lot of experience editing.

Just wanted to say: The picture in your profile is hilarious!!! hahahaha.

P.S: Can you help me with Pottermore? I have an account but I don't know how to use it :/

Lately (or not as lately as that, but I digress) it has been difficult to promote any content to refresh the main page's content (be that Selected Picture, Featured Article, DYK,...), so I would, naturally, be for any measure to give the Main Page its dynamism back. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 01:38, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

You-Know-Who + Family Trees

Hello! I've been meaning to ask you; any new informations on "the man of a thousand IPs"? Also, any leads on how to get rid of that empty space in the family tree templates? --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 16:36, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for deleting Template:Conversion rates. I hope I'll be able to get the money templates working properly before long! --xensyriaT 16:07, August 19, 2012 (UTC)

On the page Jinx on the post of Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, at trivia it says: Tom Riddle put the jinx on the post to ensure no one would keep the place of D.A.D.A teacher. Coincidentally, three of his followers suffered the jinx which prevented him from getting his plans into action.

Which three followers means this article? Quirinus Quirrell, Severus Snape, Dolorus Umbridge or Carrow? --Station7 (talk) 19:45, August 19, 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for your answer. It was at least no Remus Lupin. Snape also was "a follower" for voldemort, but only in the past. Dolorus Umbridge was indirect a follower.

I think you're right. Quirrell was "taken over" by Voldemort, Crouch Jr. and Carrow both worked for Voldemort in their respective books. Should we include it in the article. The thing, you never know which person reads which article...but also it's importsnt to notice ;) --Station7 (talk) 21:11, August 19, 2012 (UTC)

Re: Order of Merlin

) Thanks! I was beginning to wonder how long it was going to take someone to notice. ProfessorTofty (talk) 18:28, August 24, 2012 (UTC)

Hi Nick. Hopefully you won't think me interfering, but I couldn't help but notice your post on Seth Cooper's talk page, about the Chamber of Secrets on Pottermore. A fair few users (myself included) are shown to be on Chapter 5 on Pottermore. The thing is, it's just a black screen with a seemingly infinite loading circle - not all that worth viewing. Anywho, if you do want to view that page, then just click this link and hopefully it will work. I am, most sincerely, Hunnie Bunn (talk) 17:51, August 26, 2012 (UTC)

RE: Pottermore

I was delighted to be of assistance - by the way, it shouldn't be too long until Chapters 5-11 are open, as the Pottermore Insider revealed yesterday that they were finishing the artwork for "slugs, bugs, quills, and watery spills" - I always thought it meant Snape's office.

P.S. My username is JinxKey17523, and I'm a Hufflepuff.

P.P.S. Thanks, I always thought of Hedwig as a 'her' but I was never sure. Hunnie Bunn (talk) 18:02, August 26, 2012 (UTC)

Just wondering, couldn't you know who just say he's from China or wherever if you block Denmark? Then you'd have to unblock Denmark and block China, then he'd change it to somewhere else, and you probably get the idea. Also, are we sure he's still doing stuff he shouldn't? He sounded quite sincere when he apologized on his talk page... 22:30, August 26, 2012 (UTC)

In the matter of Mr. Longbottom

Whilst not necessarily concurring with the entirety, I was delighted by your pro-Neville arguments at the bottom of your profile. It's nice to see more than a rigid adherence to pure canon in the user pages here. {{SUBST:User:Jiskran/Signature}} 08:26, August 27, 2012 (UTC)

RE:RE:You-Know-Who + Family Trees

Let's hope Grunny can do something about it... it makes me grit my teeth when I think how neat the family trees would look in articles if it wasn't for all that wasted space.

Sigh. While I have almost no reason to complain of his latest edits, I'm afraid this cannot go on like this. I mean, it definitely gives him such a feeling of impunity (I can only interpret signing posts with "Danniesen" as being an indicative of either a feeling of unmeasured impunity or idiocy) that it is grossly unfair to all those who were permanently blocked and were, as a result, kept from editing since then. He was repeatedly asked to atone for his mistakes, but he repeatedly ignored all of us. Surely something should (could?) be done.

I see Hunnie Bunn told you about chapter 5. It's been this way for some time now and, judging from the most recent Pottermore Insider update, I guess we don't have to wait much more for the following chapters (I'm guessing September 1st, as to coincide with the start of the Hogwarts school year — after all, most of the action in Chapter 5 takes place that day). Either way, I can't wait for more information (I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Lockhart's backstory!).

As for the notices you put up in Talk:James Potter I and Talk:Nagini, they seem quite alright. I did minor changes to them (i.e. proofreading for British spelling, a slight rewording) but nothing much.

Hello Nick, my name is Matias gryffindor and I'm Harry Potter Wiki in Spanish Administrator. I wanted to personlize my profile page with a style that we have in our wiki, that's why I created two templates: Template:PortalTransformador and Template:PortalSeccion, but I decided don't change and I'm coming to ask you if you could to delete those templates because they're used, Greetings Matias Gryffindor Mensajes 23:29, August 27, 2012 (UTC)

Hello, why did you delete what I wrote? I know you say it's not exactly bravery, but why not? Shoes and socks are harder to give up than jumpers and hats, as walking in bare feet can be painful, particularly outside, and also, it's Ron, who generally comes across as not caring for elf rights, so I think it shows how far he has come.

LEGO Harry Potter links

So I've been going through and adding the appearances for LEGO Harry Potter: Building the Magical World & LEGO Harry Potter: Characters of the Magical World and while I've been doing that, I've also been changing the old "LEGO" links to LEGO Harry Potter. I've finally managed to get it all done, however, there are still a few links to LEGO, Lego and Lego Harry Potter floating around user and user talk pages. I know that as part of your admin duties, you've been getting rid of some of those old links, so I thought I'd let you know about it in case you wanted to take care of those that are on the user pages. ProfessorTofty (talk) 02:38, August 30, 2012 (UTC)

RE: Ron

You don't need to be so sarcastic about it, plus it doesn't need to be said- it's logical —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gleek:D (talkcontribs).

Oh, he has quite a nerve! has just created two talk page comments (Talk:Hell and Talk:1996 Gryffindor Quidditch Keeper trials spectators), that you perhaps want to take a look at (the latter is particularly funny, though not amusing the least bit, as he says he deserves "a little 'thank you'," and later goes on to claim he'd like to apologise for creating those pages as he "was 12 when [he] wrote them, and [he's] 16 now" -- which means he must've aged 4 years since October, 2011).

Anyway, I think it is painfully obvious that this is a case of sockpuppetry and, as such, I'm blocking this IP, per HPW:SOCK. Just thought I'd let you know. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 14:32, September 5, 2012 (UTC)
