I've started a forum on bringing the Book & Film articles to a higher level at the Wizengamot. Could you check it out, please? Thanks. QuidditchLover(My talk)(contribs) 03:11, October 5, 2009 (UTC)
Hi Nick, Jayden here. I just wanted to say thanks for...everything, mainly the card. It was really thoughtfull and I was extremely touched. I'm not coming back full time just yet, I just had to say thanks for all the support you gave me. Cheers. :) Jayden Matthews 08:56, October 13, 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the Unicorn Blood edit Nick. It was written a little differently to what I had originally, but I'm happy with it.--Yin&Yang 00:06, October 14, 2009 (UTC)
Yes, the forums do seem to be garnering a lot of unwanted attention lately with regards to trivial questions. I think I might have to rewrite some forum guidelines to be stricter. Thanks for the heads up on the IPs - I'll keep an eye on the range and institute a range block if I have to. - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 07:24, October 21, 2009 (UTC)
If Harry said Snape sent a letter to Dumbledore then where do I find out that Quirrell did it and how do you know Quirrell did it when it never said in the book--User:Jeffrey1992User talk:Jeffrey1992 3:24, 30 October 2009 (Owl me!)
Nick, JamesVI has now asked me 2 questions similar to the ones that he asked Jayden before. He probably knows that he has to read the articles to get these questions answered. We have to stop him once and for all. What should we do? -- GrouchMan (Send an owl then scram!!) 01:16, October 31, 2009 (UTC)
He also asked me why Peter became a Death Eater. And I´ve noticed that he and someone by the name of Jeffrey1992 have asked you and Grouchman the same question. Is it possible that Jeffrey1992 and JamesVI are the same person with two different accounts (a case of Sock Puppery?)--Rodolphus 13:08, October 31, 2009 (UTC)
I agree that they are the same person. He is just attempting to avoid any action the admins may take against him. Jayden Matthews 13:13, October 31, 2009 (UTC)
All templates featured on the main page, including Template:DYK, are locked so that only admins can edit them. Also, only admins can close nominations, so if you see a nomination page that's backlogged, your best bet is to contact an administrator. I'll take care of the DYK page now. ★ Starstuff(Owl me!) 20:48, October 31, 2009 (UTC)
Hey Nick, how are you? I trust you already know that Seth blocked JamesVI for a year for constantly being an annoyance. However, last night, both Seth and I agreed we should all keep our eyes open as he'll probably try to create a new account. That sound like a plan to you? Thanks!! -- GrouchMan (Send an owl then scram!!) 12:48, November 5, 2009 (UTC)
Points for Harry Potter Wiki:House points Game Edit
Sorry about that Nick, I actually selected that cropped version but for some reason it came out in its original form again. That is the second time that happened and I was midway through trying to change the image again when you did it for me. Thankyou very much for fixing that (and agreeing to keep that image).--Yin&Yang 11:08, November 11, 2009 (UTC)
Really? How badly did things need to be straightened up? That's nice about your brother. -- GrouchMan (Send an owl then scram!!) 21:56, November 11, 2009 (UTC)
It's cross-wiki spam; other wikis are being hit just like us. There has been an upsurge in spam lately, though, so its getting a little annoying. - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 09:35, November 12, 2009 (UTC)
I've done with Seth, You can view the breakdown of the articles with the points i gave to them on the Points Log page. :) --ÈnŔîčö DC(Send me an Owl!) 07:08, November 13, 2009 (UTC)
To be sure that a article belong to the User like you've written on my talk page. Don't forget to Check the "History" of the article. --ÈnŔîčö DC(Send me an Owl!) 07:34, November 13, 2009 (UTC)
All right, I'll start looking, but I couldn't find some of them on MySpace. I'll keep looking though. -- GrouchMan (Send an owl then scram!!) 16:43, November 14, 2009 (UTC)
Oh. This may pose as a problem. We should start a discussion at the Wizengamot to settle some guidelines for the creation of articles on Wrock bands. -- Seth Cooperowl post! 02:16, November 15, 2009 (UTC)
Hi Nick. I am just trying to spread the word about a certain discussion I have set up on the Discussion page of the Harry Potter Wiki:Canon. It depicts a topic that probably requires community decision so feel free to have your say when you're ready. Thanks!--Yin&Yang 07:46, November 16, 2009 (UTC)
I've given both articles a 3-month protection. That should hopefully deter any more unhelpful edits :) - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 11:39, November 16, 2009 (UTC)
Trust me Nick, I know what that's like, but it is little concern of mine how many times his policy has been compromised by other users. If this isn't a one-off thing then surely that is a sign that something ought to be changed? Like I said, I have no qualms with any of you guys (in fact I have grown fond of quite a few of you), I am just trying to help. Thanks for the message by the way.--Yin&Yang 15:31, November 16, 2009 (UTC)
Hi, Nick. I I have got an idea about a new category. As I am a newer I want to know whether it 'll work or not.
I thought that we, on (this site) can continue to expand Harry's world by inventing new spells, places, characters etc. So if on this site we manage a new section in which fans can put their new innovations it would be nice.
Like I have thought of this:
Spell:searcheo (the word)
Inventor: Hermione Granger (In her third year)
When wand is placed on a book an spell is cast, It 'll highlight "the word" & pages containing it.She might have invented this (like point me) to get things done fast during her overloaded studies
I am waiting for your reply. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Remusblack (talk • contribs).
Oh Merlin's beard! Thank you for that Nick... --ÈnŔîčö DC(Send me an Owl!) 10:24, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
What do you mean "I'm the only the 4th person in the history of this Wiki to hit quintuple digits."? What is "quintuple digits"? --ÈnŔîčö DC(Send me an Owl!) 13:39, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
I see. & i hope you'll be the next. ;) --ÈnŔîčö DC(Send me an Owl!) 13:45, November 20, 2009 (UTC)
Hey Nick, could I ask you for a favour? Someone has left an unsigned comment on my talk page and I would really like you to identify them for me, please. If I'm right, then that charming user has committed some sock-puppetry. I'm asking you because I've noticed that identifying annon users is something of a speciality of yours. Oh, by the way, the post is under "Sirius Black's Death" which is on the very bottom of my talk page. Thanks!--Yin&Yang 13:27, November 24, 2009 (UTC)
Thanks Nick, you hit the nail on the head. I don't know about the registered name but I am sure the two unregistered users are the same person. I usually don't like to deliberately cause trouble, but I've got a feeling that if I don't report this guy, he'll continue to pester me and other users (and not to mention degrade the wiki's articles). I'm considering giving him another chance, but then, an Admin would issue him a warning which would count as a second chance anyway, right?--Yin&Yang 21:31, November 25, 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for leaving an answer in the Talk Page: Phoenix Feather ;D
Hi, Nick. You may, or you may not know this, but recently I've been planning an effort to redisign the Wik's skin. I would really like your opinion on this, if you don't mind? Suggestions for improvement are particularly welcome. It can be viewed here[1], although please bear in mind that it's not the finished product. Jayden Matthews 17:04, November 29, 2009 (UTC)
Just so you know, an official discussion is now underay in the Wizenagamot to discuss my proposal. Jayden Matthews 18:31, November 30, 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the Order of Merlin. Jayden Matthews 18:32, November 30, 2009 (UTC)
To be honest, we don't really need it since administrators can protect pages from recreation in extreme cases. I've protected the listed pages and deleted the page itself (and, yes, I've scrubbed the resulting red link from my talk page :P) - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 09:22, December 1, 2009 (UTC)
Hi nick o'demus, I am currently making a page on a ravenclaw senior student; how do i add biographical information? Or i could give you the information to update it? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Harry4evaneva (talk • contribs).
Thank you for the reply, I do believe on spotlight he is referanced as being in harry potter and the deahtly hallows; please follow the link. How should i put a biographical box under his picture? or i can send you the information to do it. regards —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Harry4evaneva (talk • contribs).
You're welcome. Aww that's a shame. So how often do you see your dad? -- GrouchMan (Send an owl then scram!!) 16:59, December 3, 2009 (UTC)
Ouch, that really stinks. So I take it that means that your parents are divorced (if I may ask)? -- GrouchMan (Send an owl then scram!!) 17:05, December 3, 2009 (UTC)
That's ok, as long as you edit the talk pages only, not my homepage, and no message(s) will be deleted or changed. Thank you! =) --ÈnŔîčö DC(Send me an Owl!) 04:05, December 4, 2009 (UTC)
I already fixed it. Thanks for informing me. --ÈnŔîčö DC(Send me an Owl!) 09:04, December 4, 2009 (UTC)
If all you're doing is just fixing links, you have my permission to etica ny of my talk page/talk page archives. -- Seth Cooperowl post! 12:31, December 4, 2009 (UTC)
Going through my pages is fine; be aware though that several of my subpages and archives are protected from editing by anyone other than administrators. If that's the case, just leave me a note on what needs changing. Also, I am aware of the red link on my user page. I intend to create it ... sometime :P
I don't have an issue with you going through my talk page archives and fixing any redlinks you find. I'm always a bit hesitant when it comes to touching the talk page comments and userpages of other people, but I don't think you need to get permission to go ahead with maintenance edits intended strictly to keep the wiki in order, like closing a font tag in someone's post because their oversight is rendering all subsequent text on the page bright green. ★ Starstuff(Owl me!) 12:23, December 5, 2009 (UTC)
Nice work, Nick. Some of those subpages can be deleted in any case, to be honest, so I'll go through them. You won't find the first seven FA nomination histories, since I don't believe they were archived at the time. - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 15:00, December 6, 2009 (UTC)
I'll take a look at the templates and see if they can be safely deleted, or at least have the redlinks removed. - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 21:16, December 6, 2009 (UTC)
OK w/ me, you might have some of the same issues of permissions, not sure what I have protected at the moment. -- DarkJedi613(Talk) 00:39, December 20, 2009 (UTC)
You said to me unnacessary about the words insufferably and embarrassingly. First something you has to know from me is that I'm from The Netherlands. So I don't know what that words are! I'm 16. But Neville Longbottom's parents aren't dead and that was not good from me. So sorry for that! I hope that you understand it and otherwise you can ask it me at my talk-page!--Station7 13:37, December 7, 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the info. He's been blocked for infinite due to the edits you provided :) - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 10:28, December 8, 2009 (UTC)
I'm just curious why you uploaded images of flags same with those i uploaded the other day? I can't find any differences with the size, colors except for the format. Mine is in .jpg while yours is in .png Is that really necessary? --ÈnŔîčö DC(Send me an Owl!) 03:24, December 10, 2009 (UTC)
Okay! Thanks for the response. Its now clear to me. --ÈnŔîčö DC(Send me an Owl!) 15:57, December 12, 2009 (UTC)
Hi, Nick. Thanks for replaying. I 've added two new Quotes of week from hp4, I request you to 've a look at 'em & tell me whether I am allowed to vote for QoW or not.Remusblack 18:07, December 10, 2009 (UTC)
I think that adding a bulletin board to the Community Portal would be a great idea. As for creating a sticky on the forum, I'm not sure that the site's software allows for stickies, but Forum:The_Wizengamot/header could be used instead to give priority to a thread. ★ Starstuff(Owl me!) 21:54, December 11, 2009 (UTC)
I really dont mind the personal attack, but I might as well hide it, so thanks for that. I think that the only templates I have messed with are the Cleanup and the School infobox and I'm pretty sure I did them right. At least I think I did, on the School infobox I just added a Motto field. -- Ratneer Owl Me! 16:53, December 14, 2009 (UTC)
Yes Nick, I knew that. It used to be orange but he's had green fur for practically 38 years now. Thanks for the clips!!! -- GrouchMan (Send an owl then scram!!) 16:55, December 14, 2009 (UTC)
I'm confused on something on the Harry Potter page. There say they that Harry got his Firebolt at the time that his Nimbus 2000 was broken, before meeting Sirius Black. But in the movie it was when he saved Sirius and then got he the Firebolt. Could you explain to me what's right and what's wrong. Maybe a change, maybe not?--Station7 18:56, December 18, 2009 (UTC)
Nick, on the Battle of Hogwarts page. It is implied on page 575 of Deathly hallows that Neville had only been in hiding in the Room of Requirement since they went after his grandmother. "...But we were still fighting, doing underground stuff, right up until a couple of weeks ago. That's when they went after Gran... either way, I knew it was time to disappear." —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hcoknhoj (talk • contribs).
Fair enough. - Nick O'Demus 18:12, December 21, 2009 (UTC)
I have an important question. I know that administrators making pages, but like ungeregistered persons, could making pages to? How could that? Grounchamn is not an admnistrator to, but he's such a huge Harry Potter-fan that I understand it.
But an unregeristered person could making pages to. How could that?--Station7 12:59, December 22, 2009 (UTC)
Sounds good. So should I include Amazon.com in the list of fan websites as well as those books? -- GrouchMan (Send an owl then scram!!) 13:55, December 22, 2009 (UTC)
Yes, you can get my help with those books when you want.--Station7 14:29, December 22, 2009 (UTC)
Yes, it's a little bit hard for me to understand which books, could be on Harry Potter Wiki and which books not!--Station7 15:11, December 22, 2009 (UTC)
I was thinking it should run a bit longer. Things haven't been as active as they were last time. What do you think? ★ Starstuff(Owl me!) 03:49, December 23, 2009 (UTC)
How about another month? With the holidays, people don't have as much time to edit, so extending the term into January will give everyone an opportunity to "catch up," as it were. ★ Starstuff(Owl me!) 09:32, December 23, 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for cleaning up all the errors i left behind on the Harry Potter page. I still can't believe that there was nothing on that page concerning Harry's emotional ups and downs, disillusionments and reaffirmations of faith throughout the Horcrux hunt when Harry's state of mind is what drives the action. Thanks, Hcoknhoj 17:18, December 26, 2009 (UTC)
