When I looked at the change you made, it stacked the quote on different lines of text, which is contrary to how we format quotes, that is why I reverted it, I also used rollback, so I didn't see the finished product. It did the same thing again this time you changed it, so I will trying to fix it manually. --<font face="Times" size="4" color="Black" >JKoch</font>(<font face="Monotype Corsiva" size="1" color="Red">Owl Me!</font>) 17:08, June 19, 2010 (UTC)

Please try to avoid adding information in parentheses to articles, always try to work the information into the sentence, and if you can't it probably doesn't belong.

Magical Genetics Edit

Sorry for eavesdropping, but you seem to have put considerable thought into this issue. The population part is a very compelling argument. I going to take a leap and say that you have a biology background. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 13:26, March 12, 2010 (UTC)

While your argument is compelling, in this interview and on her website, Rowling has referred to the gene in the singular. As Rowling is the author, her word is law for in-universe issues. - Nick O'Demus 14:36, March 12, 2010 (UTC)

Just a tip, but you don't need to copy the message when you reply. Also, Nick is right, I forgot about the interviews. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 17:25, March 12, 2010 (UTC)

OOU Edit

OOU means out of universe. All articles are written from an in-universe perspective, meaning we treat everything as real. References to the books and movies are OOU. For instance, we say the Battle of the Department of Mysteries takes place in June 1996. While it is in OotP we do not mention that fact. The exception is in the Behind the Scenes sections of articles.

For Ginny Weasley, you mentioned the Epilogue, that is out of universe.

Thanks, --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 21:35, March 12, 2010 (UTC)

Also, if you find something confusing, just change it. Please do not leave parenthetical expressions in the middle of articles. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 22:39, March 12, 2010 (UTC)
The issue with finding the author is that so many changes are made especially to major articles like Hermione Granger that one simply has to make the changes they think is best. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 06:33, March 13, 2010 (UTC)

Note Edit

I had stopped editing roughly an hour previous to your post. I do not engage in edit warring, as it is unproductive and detrimental to the wiki. I had conceded the point, though I do not agree, upon remembering that on the table on the horcrux page Harry is listed, but marked as accidental. Whether it is possible to create an accidental horcrux, or whether it should be called something else, has long been a subject of debate. Thanks, --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 23:50, March 13, 2010 (UTC)

No need. I was overly terse. Edit warring generally expands beyond a disagreement on one particular article to angry Talk page edits and et cetera. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 00:02, March 14, 2010 (UTC)

Names Edit

Just a tip: when you talk to someone, you don't have to call them by their real name, even though Hcoknhoj's real name is probably John, it is probably best to call someone by their username, as I have listed a name down on my user page that is not my real name. Thanks.--L.V.K.T.V.J.Hogwarts(Send an owl!) 00:06, March 14, 2010 (UTC)

British Syntax Edit

I am an American user, but I know and use British Syntax per HPW policy. Duelled and travelled and cancelled all with two ls are appropriate in British Syntax and, therefore, on this wiki. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 15:31, March 16, 2010 (UTC)

Re: Edit

The question was essentially "should we point this out?" Note can be a synonym for pointing something out. So I was saying that we should not point out that she was the only curse word user. Thanks, --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 21:59, March 19, 2010 (UTC)

Re: blogs' content Edit

Well, I don't really use the blogs myself, but I think it should be fine. Lots of people use it for fanfiction, and if that's allowed, I don't see what would be wrong with a discussion on how science might apply in the HP-universe. (Don't even get me started on how Transfiguration/Conjuration messes with the Laws of Conservation of Mass and Energy.) - Nick O'Demus 12:45, March 20, 2010 (UTC)

The Snatcher Edit

Quote Revert Edit

When I looked at the change you made, it stacked the quote on different lines of text, which is contrary to how we format quotes, that is why I reverted it, I also used rollback, so I didn't see the finished product. The reason the quote disappeared is that when you changed the quote to add the d to "proved" you put the source first. Quotes go:Quote|Whatever was said|caption|source --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 17:12, June 19, 2010 (UTC)

Parentheticals Edit

Please try to avoid adding information in parentheses to articles, always try to work the information into the sentence, and if you can't it probably doesn't belong.
