Re: Do you need permission to post quotes?

Not that I'm aware of, as long as they're canon, fit the topic and don't overcrowd a page.

I haven't followed too closely your edit history on Harry Potter's page, but there were a few problems, such as removal of editor-restricted instructions and some formatting out of whack. I would therefore add the quote and wait a couple of days before editing again, just to see what happens. MinorStoop 20:03, December 17, 2013 (UTC)

Too late, I already did on yours. And it's "respond", not "resond". :)
Also, allow me to inform you that removal of messages from another user's talk page is generally a bad idea, as a matter of both form (it's her/his talk page) and practicality (there's no way to know when a detail mentioned in the removed text may be needed). Only exceptions are obvious vandalism or (more rarely) grammar/spelling issues. MinorStoop 20:07, December 17, 2013 (UTC)
Sorry, the only removal of messages I have ever removed from someone's talk has been one of my own.
Misskatniss1546 (talk) 20:11, December 17, 2013 (UTC)Misskatniss1546
Granted, but it's still something generally not done unless it's vandalism. :) Should you want to dismiss some text of yours try using the strike tags <strike> and </strike> (they'll do this to the text they enclose) and then explain why. At least it always worked for me. MinorStoop 20:24, December 17, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for telling me that.

MK, please take care to position links to pictures on a line to themselves, either before or after a paragraph, so that they do not disrupt the paragraph itself. I also noticed that sometimes (Lupin's wand) they do not fit the topic of the section they've been put in. Thanks, MinorStoop 07:04, December 23, 2013 (UTC)

Okay, thank you.

Re:Lavender Brown

At the top of my head, can't think any reason why we shouldn't. I always thought of her as a somewhat of a fluffhead, based primarily on her liking of Divination, and let's not forget she lost out in the Battle of Hogwarts and died a short time later. I would therefore agree about her NEWT-level Transfiguration and Divination, but would ask a question or two about her DA-based defensive magic on her article's talk page, before mentioning it. MinorStoop 23:51, December 25, 2013 (UTC)

That makes sense now that you mention it. The fact that she did die in the Battle of Hogwarts dosen't show skill in the area of defensive magic. I think your right adding the NEWT-level Transfiguration and Divination should be all.

I put my suggestion on the Lavender Brown talk page.

As per my previous post, please take care to place your pictures in a line to themselves, before a paragraph. It helps both in showing them correctly in the viewed page, and in editing the same page in the editor. It helps if you're in source mode - this can be set up in "your preferences", in the "editing" page. Thank you. MinorStoop 21:48, December 29, 2013 (UTC)

I could have sworn I had done that, thank you.

Misskatniss1546 (talk) 21:50, December 29, 2013 (UTC)Misskatniss1546

Not on Remus Lupin's page - it seemed the kind of bad positioning more easily resulting from working in visual editor than in text editor. :) MinorStoop 22:30, December 29, 2013 (UTC)

Re: Luna- Care of Magical Creatures

Most certainly. However I can't provide a reference. If you can't either, add a note in the "Edit Summary" field. MinorStoop 22:29, December 30, 2013 (UTC) P.S. I would also go ahead with the Lavender's skills in Divination and Transfiguration. Nobody answered, so we can accept that as a tacit assent. MS

Making decisions

Hi there! I notice that, in quite a few cases, you've been asking User:MinorStoop for advice regarding edits to a particular page. While there is nothing wrong with communicating about major edits with a fellow member of the wiki, decisions that only affect a single page are best discussed on the talk page of the article in question, so that the whole userbase can be a part of the discussion. -- 1337star (Drop me a line!) 01:13, December 31, 2013 (UTC)

Ya know, 1337 is right - changes to only one article are best discussed on the article's talk page.
The only disagreement I might have with him is whether a character's magical skill is "major". I often went ahead and rewrote a sentence whose structure I disliked or deleted an unsupported paragraph and nobody complained. Sometimes, being bold pays. MinorStoop 02:51, December 31, 2013 (UTC)
Should I undo the edits I made? There right though with evidence to back them up and no one has undone them yet.
Misskatniss1546 (talk) 03:07, December 31, 2013 (UTC)Misskatniss1546
Nope. Let somebody else revert your edits, if they think they're wrong. :) MinorStoop 07:46, December 31, 2013 (UTC)

Resourcefulness a skill

Well, there's a "Bravery" section in Neville Longbottom's "Magical abilities and skills", so I don't see no reason why you shouldn't go ahead. MinorStoop 22:57, January 2, 2014 (UTC)

Your edits

One of your recent edits has been considered to be factually dubious by a few editors, and it called to my attention that you're not providing references to support your edits. All material on this wiki needs to be cited so it can be proven as true. A lot of it unfortunately isn't right now, but that doesn't mean adding unsourced material is acceptable. This page gives a brief tutorial on how to do it, and you can look on almost any major page on this wiki to see the general format (for instance, references from the books are generally formatted <ref>''[[Name of book in italics and linked]]'' - Chapter # (''Name of chapter in italics'')</ref>). Unsourced material, even if true, may be at risk of being deleted. Please take this into consideration in the future. -- 1337star (Drop me a line!) 07:06, January 21, 2014 (UTC)

I think their names sould be removed then if no sufficient evidence can be given.Misskatniss1546 (talk) 21:11, February 14, 2014 (UTC)Misskatniss1546

Ron & Cho - conjuration

I don't think they ever did. At least, they were never shown to in both books and movies. MinorStoop 21:08, February 14, 2014 (UTC)

If no sufficent evidence can be given then their names should be removed from the list of practitioners. I'm going to do that, right now. Misskatniss1546 (talk) 21:13, February 14, 2014 (UTC)Misskatniss1546

Better start a thread on "Conjuration"'s talk page first. MinorStoop 21:19, February 14, 2014 (UTC)

I've never been a picture guy: feel free to do as you deem fit. Just make sure that you can trace your pics to a reliable canon source (if you manage), fit them in the relevant pages, and achieve a good balance between text and pictures.

No, I'll have to take that back - that was 97 edits, definitely too early. We'll have to wait a few days until you're actually 2000 or so edits. I'm sorry. MinorStoop 21:06, February 18, 2014 (UTC)

Misskatniss, could you do me a huge favor and indicate what your're editing when you edit? If you could leave a summary of your edit, like "pictures", that would help immensly. Thanks! Dr. Galenos (talk) 15:28, March 4, 2014 (UTC)

Undo my edits of page Albus_Dumbledore#1996-1997

Please, I'd like that you undo all my edits of day 26 March 2014 in the page Albus_Dumbledore#1996-1997!!! Thank you and I am so sorry for that! Andre G. Dias (talk) 20:27, March 26, 2014 (Brazil)

Hi! How are you?

What did happen is that I tried to add a link to the text but it unconfigured the text's layout and at that point I didn't know how to fix or undo it. After that I read a Wikia Help text and I could fix myself. So, I ask you to forget about it and forgive me for the confusion and inconvenience. Andre G. Dias (talk) 00:11, March 29, 2014 (Brazil)

Help me

I can not put links in the titles of the images ( when you have time can you post it or help to do it? Carol.Potter (talk) 23:54, April 9, 2014 (UTC)Carol.Potter

When you say links in the title of the pictures do you mean the words that follow the pictures? Because if you do all you have do is put whatever you want linked in between two bars, these bars [[  ]] and it will do it. Misskatniss1546 (talk) 00:04, April 10, 2014 (UTC)Misskatniss1546

Calling For Backup

MK, could you come and try to talk some sense into the guy on my talk page? He seems to think that adding two words that have to do with Fluffy's origin mythology is a horrible crime. I've tried reasoning, but, he seems beyond logic at this point. Dr. Galenos (talk) 13:53, April 29, 2014 (UTC)

Categorie Removal

Regarding Ron's page, why are you removing the categories? Given that this is the second time its happened, it doesnt seem to be a mistake, and I'm curious about your reason for doing so. Dr. Galenos (talk) 16:04, May 7, 2014 (UTC)

I'm also curious - it's very strange. MinorStoop 16:59, May 7, 2014 (UTC)

RE:Picture on Harry Potter profile page

Changes to main pictures of high-traffic pages (Featured Articles, mostly) are to be subject to talk page voting to prevent edit-warring. Nothing personal, really, it's just standard procedure. If you want to change the picture to the one you proposed, I suggest you start a vote on the article's talk page. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 20:06, June 5, 2014 (UTC)

I know its not personal and I have left a message on the talk page.

Daily Prophet Picture

Hello Misskatniss1546. I wondered if you had a source for this image? It doesn't really look like the other Daily Prophets, and I can't recall any Daily Prophet being released about the Battle of Hogwarts. --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 21:09, July 5, 2014 (UTC)

Hogwarts/Hogwarts Castle

I saw your edits on several pages, e.g. Fred Weasley, Lavender Brown, changing "Hogwarts Castle" to "Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry". I will undo it because "Hogwarts Castle" means the building. (First floor, second floor, etc) Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry means the school itself (the four Houses, the history, etc). Birth and death places

I just saw that you added the places of birth and death to the character places.

In this interview, JKR said that all Hogwarts students come from GB and Ireland. Perhaps we could work together and add it the character pages? I know its a lot of work, but maybe we could work together.--Rodolphus (talk) 18:24, July 8, 2014 (UTC)

All right, we should start with the most prominent characters, such as the; students, known Death Eaters, members of the Order of the Phoenix, and professors. Everyone I just listed were all students at one time. Misskatniss1546 (talk) 18:31, July 8, 2014 (UTC)Misskatniss1546

How do you know that Parvati Patil, Fred Weasley are born in Great Britain, but not Ireland? AB Ng Talk 11:18, July 9, 2014 (UTC)

That's a good question, you can put Ireland down as well if you want. Misskatniss1546 (talk) 15:48, July 9, 2014 (UTC)

Thank you for the information. There's one wiki page I need the picture to be changed to the original, Tom Riddle. Please and thank you! Xo

I change pictures because they either need to be different (It gets quite boring after seeing the original for so long), or because there are much more attractive ones.

Image policy

I think I should direct your attention to the image policy. When uploading pictures to the wiki, one must assure said pictures are sourced and categorised properly, to keep images neat, "searchable", and to make sure we don't include fanon in articles.

Next time, when uploading a picture, make sure you fill in the picture information template properly -- make sure to come to me if you have any queries! --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 21:46, July 13, 2014 (UTC)

When editing pages, please do not add "thumb" tags to any images within the infobox. Doing this causes the infobox to stretch and overlapped text. Thank you for your cooperation. - Cavalier OneGryffindorcrest(Wizarding Wireless Network) 10:48, July 20, 2014 (UTC)

Same pic

Can I ask you why you uploaded some pics I already uploaded on the wiki, please? Especially when you put these pics instead of mine on the pages. Thank you. Lady Junky 18:19, July 31, 2014 (UTC)

Some of the images are so dark you can barley see whats going on in the picture doesn't that defect the point of a picture. Misskatniss1546 (talk) 18:22, July 31, 2014 (UTC)Misskatniss1546

Except my pics are directly from Pottermore. They are like that on the website and we can't change them, because if we do like you, these pics become fanmade. We need to respect how the pic appeared on Pottermore, not our fault if they are dark. Lady Junky 18:35, July 31, 2014 (UTC)

Hello! Just a quick heads-up: I recently noticed that, whenever uploading pictures, you do not fill in the "Information" template, and do not provide categories.
