It looks like Starstuff still isn't back from her trip yet, so we're going to have to push back the start of the game just a few days (we also need just a bit more time to fine-tune some of the machanics). Tentatively, I'm going to set the new start date as the 20th, and I'll let our Prefects know if anything changes. Thanks for your patience. - Nick O'Demus 18:21, September 14, 2009 (UTC)
Hello Margiechocoholic, I am Gryfindoor, and I would like to join the Gryffindor House. My name is the same as
the house, and I am brave so I think I'd be a good Gryffindor.
The MediaWiki software runs on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), which for general purposes can be considered equivalent to Greenwich Mean Time, as the difference between the two time standards is never greater than a few fractions of a second. Just add 10 hours to the UTC time if you're in GMT+10 or use this converter at TimeandDate.com to do it for you automatically.
You can also edit your preferences to display your local time instead of UTC, but this applies only to edit logs, and not to signatures posted on pages. You can find a guide on how to change your date and time preferences on this page (scroll down to "Date and time").
The HPG starting date has been postponed until September 20 in order to give us some more time to work out issues with the game mechanics. 00:00 September 20 in UTC will be 10:00 September 20 in GMT+10.[1]
I'm not sure how a clock could be set up on this site. However, I hope the above information helps you instead. ★ Starstuff(Owl me!) 00:00, September 16, 2009 (UTC)
I've added some new guidelines (based on suggestions from Nick O'Demus) on the amount of points that should be given for certain types of contributions to the House Points Game policy page. Please review these new guidelines, and if you have any concerns or ideas for improvement, feel free to let me know. Thanks! ★ Starstuff(Owl me!) 23:53, September 19, 2009 (UTC)
This is just a message to let you know that the new term of the House Points Game started at 00:00 September 20 (UTC). As a Prefect, you can begin giving points, as well as encouraging your House and helping to direct its collaborative work at Gryffindor Tower. If you see someone with a Gryffindor userbox on their userpage who hasn't joined the game yet, feel free to drop them a note. ★ Starstuff(Owl me!) 00:28, September 20, 2009 (UTC)
Hi Margiechocoholic. I just wanted to answer your question about my refering to J.K. Rowling as Joanne Murray. The latter is actually her real name. 'Rowling' was changed to 'Murray' after she married her husband whose surname is Murray. The 'J.K. Rowling' name is more of a publication title (used strictly for her books) with the second initial, 'K' standing for Kathleen, not actually being part of her real name at all but borrowed from either her mother or grandmother (I can't remember whose it was). Why bother adding a false middle name initial, you ask? Well it turns out that when Joanne Rowling first tried to publish 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone', the publisher thought that to have Rowling's full first and last name on the front cover would make it blatantly obvious that the author is female and therefore wouldn't attract the attention of male readers. So she was asked to initialise her first name and add a false initialised middle name to create the illusion that the author is male. Sounds a little strange to me but anyway...--Yin&Yang 05:56, October 11, 2009 (UTC)
Hi Margiechocoholic, how are you? I don't know if you've noticed, but recently I signed up to take part in the House Points game. Since you are my Prefect (yes, I chose Gryffindor the least common, lol), I was wondering if I could ask for my first set of points for the game from you? I'm usually not the type to ask for rewards, but not too long ago I made a considerable contribution to the 'Sirius Black' section on the 'Hermione Granger' page and I had hoped that I would have earned at least a few points. If you disagree then that's alright, I mainly just wanted to let you know that I joined the team. Thanks.--Yin&Yang 05:00, November 12, 2009 (UTC)
Hi Margie, I hope you had a great birthday. Anyway, I just wanted to ask if it is possible for you to award Quidditch Lover some House Points for her outstanding efforts to help me fix up my signiture. She had been trying to help me for a while now, and she just managed to finally (and literally) "crack the code". Thanks!--Yin & YangTalk to me! 08:41, December 5, 2009 (UTC)
It's been decided to extend the House Points Game by one month past the original ending date, so Prefects will have time to review their House participants' achievements and award any final points, but without disrupting the holidays. The game will now end at 00:00 on January 20th, 2010. - Nick O'Demus 18:48, December 24, 2009 (UTC)

Hi Margiechocoholic. Could you take a look at your objection on the Elder Wand FAN which you made in February, and if you're happy that it has been addressed, strike it? :-) Cheers, Grunny (talk) 08:20, August 25, 2010 (UTC)
Okay that's done. I'm very happy :) Well done on fixing it up! I definitely think it's FA-worthy now. Thanks for letting me know, otherwise I would have been objecting a perfectly good article :( :p MargiechocoholicOwl me! 09:57, August 25, 2010 (UTC)
