Hey I thought that you may like to start a game called truth or dare, Harry Potter wiki style. The rules are below.

You must answer a question about the Harry Potter series

You will dare someone to do an edit on which page you wish.

Your edits

Only things from the Harry Potter universe belong in the main part of the articles. This means quotes from JK, the actors, etc. are not to be included. Articles must be written from the point of view of someone in the Harry Potter universe, not outside it (Out of Universe). -Shorty1982 00:53, September 15, 2011 (UTC)

Constant image upload

Stop uploading the JKR picture of Snape. It is already on the Wiki, and there is not need for it to be duplicated. I have deleted your upload FOUR times now. I do not expect to have to delete it again. The very fact that it was constantly deleted should have given you some indication that you shouldn't reupload it. Do it again, and I'll block you for disruption. Thank you for your cooperation. - Cavalier OneGryffindorcrest(Wizarding Wireless Network) 19:32, October 16, 2011 (UTC)

But my copy of the image is clearer and has better resolution

British Spelling

Thanks for contributing to the Harry Potter Wiki! Please note, we use British spelling, syntax, and grammar on this Wiki (e.g. "defence" instead of "defense", and "practise" instead of "practice" when it is a verb). We use British titles as well (e.g. "Philosopher's Stone" instead of "Sorcerer's Stone", and "Minister for Magic" instead of "Minister of Magic"). If you have any further questions, feel free to ask. Thanks. ProfessorTofty 04:18, October 26, 2011 (UTC)

why do you keep on changing that and saying "idiot snape's magic is only rivaled by dumbledore voldemort and PERHAPS(what kind of word is that to use on a wiki) mcgonagall. you know that's an opinion and where's your proof?

stop subjectively editing that section on snape

why do you keep on changing that and saying "idiot snape's magic is only rivaled by dumbledore voldemort and PERHAPS(what kind of word is that to use on a wiki) mcgonagall. you know that's an opinion and where's your proof?

Uhhhh it's not MY opinion. Rowling said so herself, and her views on the character are pretty much canonical.

LeocadiaBegbick 01:08, December 2, 2011 (UTC)

If Rowling did state as much, you might want to include a link to a source indicating where she said as such. That would help to endt his particular edit conflict. ProfessorTofty 01:11, December 2, 2011 (UTC)
I read it in an interview with her once. I'm sure it's on the internet somewhere but it seems kind of dumb that I should have to find a link when like, 90% of the descriptions on this entire website are subjective. And it's kind of idiotic that this Snapehasnocontributiontothestorywhatever would edit out a FACTUAL piece of information because it's "just an opinion" and then replace the deleted content with his own. What makes him think that his views are more valid than Rowling's? lol.
LeocadiaBegbick 01:41, December 2, 2011 (UTC)
If you see anything subjective on this site, please, change it to be more neutral. Until then, you can't add something as specific as "Snape's powers are only rivaled by such and such" without a source. Just saying Rowling said it is not enough. And a quick search of Accio Quote! reveals nothing of that sort, which leads me to believe you are lying/mistaken. -- 1337star (talk) 01:55, December 2, 2011 (UTC)
And you have yet to provide a source where Rowling said that. Because anyone can say "Rowling said this" for anything you can't just cite your reason as "Rowling said so", you have to provide a verifiable, legitimate source. Yes, a lot of things on this site are subjective (I don't think it's anywhere near 90% but that's neither here nor there) but that is something that is slowly being corrected. With no source what you're putting on Snape's page sounds very subjective and of your opinion. It is very apparent that at least four people on here don't know this interview you're talking about (Snapehasnocontributiontotheplot, ProfessorTofty, 1337star and me). -Shorty1982 02:02, December 2, 2011 (UTC)

Accio Quote doesn't and can't keep track of every single thing Rowling has ever said. I'm looking at the Characters pages right now and there are tons of quotes that aren't there. Furthermore, I'm not seeing how what I wrote was untrue even just based on evidence from the text. Snape is distinctly described as being an exceptional wizard who demonstrates extremely uncommon knowledge and ability throughout the story. One example: when Dumbledore is weakened by Voldemort's potion and when he is cursed by the Horcrux ring, the person he immediately goes to for help is Snape ... this suggest that Snape is the only person who would know about these things other than Voldemort himself. To say that Snape was more knowledgeable and studied in magic than anyone else in the story except Dumbledore or Voldemort is really not that unreasonable.

No, it suggests that Snape was possibly the only person available at the time who knew how to help or that he was one of the few available but the only one Dumbledore could trust for whatever reason. Yes, Snape was an exceptional wizard but nothing I've seen even suggests that, out of the millions of wizards in the world, only those three people were even more exceptional than Snape. -Shorty1982 02:26, December 2, 2011 (UTC)

Voldemort specifically designed the Horcrux cave to be impenetrable by none but a wizard of his calibre. Dumbledore wouldn't have expected Snape to know about the potion and how it worked if he wasn't in that league of ability.
LeocadiaBegbick 02:56, December 2, 2011 (UTC)
I would think that only suggests that he would need the help of someone who is familiar with both the dark arts and potions, two areas in which Snape in particular excelled. As for Accio Quote, yes, it is true that they cannot list everything that Rowling says, but the point remains that if you wish to quote Rowling on something, then it must be sourced somewhere that is generally considered to be reliable. Otherwise, anyone can claim that Rowling said anything, such as the infamous rumor about the snake from the zoo in the first book being Nagini that keeps getting slinged around. Your recent edits

Hi there! Please note that in editing the Harry Potter Wiki, articles should attempt to present a neutral point of view. However, I felt that a couple of your recent edits strayed outside of this and they have been reverted. Please try not to make edits that present an unnecessarily slanted point of view.
