RE: Clock Tower

Hi, JPkilleen. I got what you mean about the Clock Tower. The problem is that we don't know exactly where the bottom is. It is clear that there's more space between the bottom and the fourth floor than between the fourth floor and the fifth, so I would leave it like that, but you can change it if you wish. What I understand is that the Entrance is in the Ground Floor, there are no second/third floors, and in fourth and fifth floors there are corridors to the Hospital Tower. But, again, feel free to change it. Thanks, El Profeta Vespertino 11:41, July 29, 2010 (UTC)

RE: North Tower and the remaining tower

Hi! I'm sorry I have not answered your messages. I am out of Internet for 14 days. The North Tower is not from the films/video games; it is named in PoA book, that is more canon, so it should be named "North Tower" . Regarding the other tower in the Viaduct Entrance, I thought about that, but I did not know how to call it. You can create it if you want, as Back Right Viaduct Tower, but we don't know anything about that tower so I decided not to create it. Again, feel free to create it and sorry for answering so late. Hi again. I was just thinking about moving Herbology Tower to Tapestry Corridor Tower. The Herbology Tower name may refer to the Bell Towers or the Central Tower as the greenhouses are located in a large area. On the other hand, I've seen your Central Tower Courtyard article and I was wondering if it is the Middle Courtyard what you are referring to. Thanks, RavenclawcrestThe Evening Prophet Ravenclawcrest (Owl Post) 18:22, August 22, 2010 (UTC)

OK, I got what you mean about the courtyard, but in the real castle there seems to be no place for this area! About the Second-floor girls' lavatory, I suggest reading this. I will respect your opinion about the tower and I'm not going to move it. Thanks, RavenclawcrestThe Evening Prophet Ravenclawcrest (Owl Post) 20:33, August 22, 2010 (UTC)

I reverted many of the articles you moved last night. Remember that in the books, "hospital wing" is not capitalized; therefore, the whole title shouldn't be capitalized, only the first word. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 17:48, August 18, 2010 (UTC)

Might I ask you why you moved the articles on several classrooms from their proper name (i.e. "Classroom 1B") into a conjectural, descriptive title (i.e. "Transfiguration Classroom") ? --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 21:03, August 19, 2010 (UTC)

The rooms as named in the books, aren't given "Official" titles the way they are in the video games. The title "Defence Against the Dark Arts Classroom" isn't made in all caps like that, it was just what Harry or another character was calling it, not it's official title. The vidoegames give clear official title (not conjectural) to the rooms. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 15:48, August 20, 2010 (UTC)
Exactly. "<insert lesson name here> classroom" is merely a description of the classroom, not the actual classroom name. Also, in Order of the Phoenix (the book) we learn that the classrooms are indeed numbered (see Classroom 11). --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 16:07, August 20, 2010 (UTC)

Article titles

When creating a new article, please keep in mind the following:

  1. If the name of the article's subject is not capitalized in the canon source, the article title should not be capitalized beyond the first letter. (example: Corned beef sandwich).
  2. If the name of the article's subject is not officially specified in the canon source, but is rather a description created by the user, likewise the article title should not be capitalized beyond the first letter (example: Portrait of a girl with flowers), unless the title contains a proper noun (example: Curse on Marvolo Gaunt's ring). The {{Conjecture}} template should also be included at the top of the article.

I'm not "attacking" anything. I'm simply informing you that, in the future, please remember to differentiate between titles that are taken from a canonical source, and conjectural titles used due to lack of an official name. You can ask any other administrator and they'll tell you the same thing. And as a matter of fact, I do plan on going through the Conjectural articles and correcting the names a bit later on when I've got some more free time. - Nick O'Demus 17:12, October 30, 2010 (UTC)

RE:Keep an Eye out for Ghosts

As "Keep an Eye out for Ghosts" isn't the name of the location, but a note explaining such room's peculiarity, it remains unidentified. I've deleted it instead of moving it to, say, "Unidentifed ghost-gathering room", because we've conventioned not to create articles on locations from the Marauder's Map that are not identified (you can clearly see why: there are dozens of unlabeled rooms). --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 00:41, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

I meant to go back in and put it under the BTS section, slipped my mind, but if you've played the game and are more familiar with the location then me, go ahead and add it back in under BTS, I was just going through classrooms and cleaning them up so everything in the main section of the articles is the topmost canon and anything that contradicts goes under BTS. --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 20:44, January 21, 2011 (UTC)

Yea, definitely in the BTS, actually the headmaster page itself could probably use some work in the BTS section, making sure to cover all the different movie and video game locations. --BachLynnGryffindorcrest(Accio!) 23:03, January 21, 2011 (UTC)

RE:Hospital Wing stores

I capitalised "Hospital Wing" because that's the way its spelt in the game. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 21:04, February 12, 2011 (UTC)

There can´t be a staircase leading down to the Trophy room, as the Trophy room is located on the third floor.Rodolphus 18:11, July 17, 2011 (UTC)
