Re: Logos

Sorry, but while I'd be alright with hosting graphical links to the wikis here if they were made, I don't personally claim to be any great shakes when it comes to graphic design. I usually use a combination of two programs-- Paint and Irfanview when it comes to graphic manipulation, but I can't really advise you on actually designing logos. As for linking to the Harry Potter Wiki, you can use either of the images on Harry Potter Wiki:Affiliates -- just upload them to the respective wikis and add them like you would any other graphic and use the link code from that page. Re: Picture captions

I believe that is something that can only be done by contacting Wikia directly via Special:Contact. Use that from a wiki where you'd like to have that done, and mention any other wikis on which you'd like to have it done. Can't guarantee that they'll do it, but that's how to get the process started. ProfessorTofty (talk) 19:24, July 18, 2013 (UTC)

Hi Hunnie Bunn! I've read that. When you're admin you can edit the page: MediaWiki:Wikia.css
Add this to the page:
/* === Hide "Image added by" on articles === */ .picture-attribution { display:none !important; }
That should work.
BTW: Are you able to edit the Potter Dictionary Wiki? Because I am not able to do so.
Harry granger   Talk   contribs 18:50, July 19, 2013 (UTC)
Oh when I understand right you don't know if you are able to edit nowadays. Perhaps you can't, too, who knows. BTW: I'm glad that the hiding "Image added by" works for you now.  Harry granger   Talk   contribs 19:39, July 19, 2013 (UTC)
Okay, I understand. But have you something changed with the JavaScript? Because this could eventually be the cause why I cannot edit.  Harry granger   Talk   contribs 19:44, July 19, 2013 (UTC)
Okay, thank you. I try together with the Community Wiki to solve the problem.  Harry granger   Talk   contribs 19:50, July 19, 2013 (UTC)

Hi there! Sorry for all problems I've caused, thank you for making me, things clear. It is just that I am a new user, and I don't know how to use the wiki correctly. Again, sorry for all the issues I have generated, my apologies.SeverusSnape1998 (talk) 00:58, July 20, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for explaining :)

Music222's edits

Good job on reverting the pointless edits he made to the Slytherin Gallery, but to my mind in your edit summaries you overlooked the fact that he(?) was in any case duplicating the already-existing members of the gallery. :-) Except of course for the Slytherin House Table, which wasn't in the gallery for the very good reason that it isn't a Slytherin, it's just a table. (And to my mind none of the images he's uploaded are suitable for this wiki, not one; they're all way too low resolution, and at least one is poor quality besides). — RobertATfm (talk) 18:36, July 30, 2013 (UTC)

Hi Hunnie_Bunn!

I'm the guy that created the "The Aurors" page about the IGN April Fool. I also made the poster with the rat animagus' x-ray.

Want the file? The poster, I mean. I could check for the rat-x-ray as well. But the text was my idea...

Alexander.proff (talk) 23:26, July 30, 2013 (UTC)

I'm not sure what the problem is, but perhaps the template itself uses another template that the other wiki doesn't have available. Try creating this template before creating the infobox one. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 20:44, August 9, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks - that question was really annoying me!

FireworksandChimpanzees (talk) 20:42, August 11, 2013 (UTC)

Your answer to FireworksandChimpanzees

The difference is that James never had the chance to step aside, he didn't have a choice in the matter. He was blasted away like a puppet without second thought. Lily, however, made a conscious choice to die for her son, she wanted to die so that he could live. That's what did the trick.

Are you sure? I understood it this way that it happened because Voldemort had given her the choice to step away but she refused. He didn't give James the choice - there you're right - and he only gave it to Lily because of the plead of Severus Snape, but she refused.  Harry granger   Talk   contribs 10:41, August 12, 2013 (UTC)

I think I fixed it; try it out now. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 21:47, August 17, 2013 (UTC)

I don't see why not. Let me know when you're all ready. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 21:55, August 17, 2013 (UTC)

I don't see how Courtyard apoccalypse and skirmish in the viaduct courtyared are non canon, the books don't contradict them! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Helgen (talkcontribs).

We should definitely start thinking about that, perhaps we should put the "decorations" up a week before (that would be Thursday, the 24th)? Or earlier, it's the same. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 15:45, October 19, 2013 (UTC)

I've already started planning for a Halloween theme. I've fiddled around with some pictures to produce what I think is a suitable background, and I think I'll manage to make a decent wordmark and make plans for the main page until Wednesday. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 17:24, October 19, 2013 (UTC)

When you say about giving me warnings and stuff, consider that I hardly ever look at my talk page. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Helgen (talkcontribs).

Polish info

Sorry for my English, but I do not know him well. As for the source, I do not know, where did the information in Polish wiki. You'd have to ask the person who brought it to the wiki. I deal with fewer more important articles. 32Polak 21:39, November 2, 2013 (UTC)

Hunnie, I stole your layout code for my page because I couldnt get it to work. So, thanks for the (unintended) help. Dr. Galenos (talk) 23:31, November 7, 2013 (UTC)

RE:Daily Prophet Names

As you know, the Daily Prophet Newsletters were around in 1998 and 1999 and there aren't many people around who have copies. The only person I know for sure that has copies is Steve Vander Ark, the founder and webmaster of the Harry Potter Lexicon (he apparently carries them around for his presentations and keynotes, and lets attendees take a peek at them; and includes them in this picture on his Facebook, that makes me twinge in jealousy).

I have, quite some time ago, asked him if he'd be so kind as to provide scans of the newletters, but he replied with a categorical no. He said that membership in the Official Harry Potter Fan Club (which distributed the Newsletters) was paid, and that giving away the newsletters for free would be unfair for those who had to pay for them back in the day. Well, I tried, sigh.

Anyway, that being said, the next best thing are the newsletter synopses and character entries he published on the Lexicon. That's about as close as we can get, at least at this time. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 21:48, November 10, 2013 (UTC)

Whenever that happens, it's because they are listed somewhere else on the Lexicon. In this particular case, they are listed on the characters directory: "Spleen, Professor Helbert" is here, and "Cooper, Buckley" is here. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 22:16, November 10, 2013 (UTC)
Oh, I should do it, thanks for pointing it out. I haven't archived my talk page since February and I daresay it's a few months too long. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 22:26, November 10, 2013 (UTC)

Wizard's Challenge

Hi there! As you've apparently be playing it quite extensively, I was wondering if you might be of help in finishing up an article on the Wizard's Challenge quiz. I presume you know the one I mean. I've started the article here (it's at the bottom, beneath the Moody's Challenges stuff), and due to your knowledge on the subject, I give you full permission to edit that section of that page, or even to complete the article and move it into mainspace. If you do the latter, however, please both notify me and remember to put an Out of universe template on it (I don't have it on the draft in progress because it would at that work page to this category). Thanks for any help you can give! -- 1337star (Drop me a line!) 06:01, November 13, 2013 (UTC)

FamilyGamerTV have put up two videos of Chapters 2 and 3 of the game on Youtube (you can watch them here and here). Unfortunately, that's it. I'll keep my eyes open for any other complete walkthroughs being put up online. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 21:16, November 13, 2013 (UTC)

Re: Simen Johannes Fagerli

I wouldn't have interfered if the topic was discussed in the Abraxas Malfoy's talk page, or in a blog; however, Fagerli's insistence in having his statement implemented before a consensus is reached grates on my nerves.

Anyway, allow me to thank you for nipping a crisis in the making - I was about to lose my temper, and forget my place. I'll see if I can keep my cool and keep a good working environment on the wiki. MinorStoop 14:37, November 16, 2013 (UTC)

Sounds fine with me. MinorStoop 14:45, November 16, 2013 (UTC)

RE:Extra Features

Yes, there is a 2-Disk Special Edition in which The Seven Swans is clearly seen. It's not an extra scene, if I recall correctly, but it's more of a Behind the Scenes feature. But, yes, sure, take it. May I inquire what for? :) --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 00:33, November 17, 2013 (UTC)

Re: Templates

Problem solved, thank you! Sometimes, if you don't know all the ins and outs of a wiki, it can be difficult to understand why a certain feature exists. Or does not, if it's the case. MinorStoop 16:29, November 28, 2013 (UTC)

Confirming reference.

Hey Hunnie. As I see you are currently active, I was hoping you could do me a favour. I'm on the computers at my school, and they restrict access to YouTube, so I am unable to confirm the validity of the referenced material recently added to Reed (it's the statement starting "According to the Ollivanders" and sourced by the second reference). Could you confirm for me that A) the video is of the Ollivander's attraction at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and B) the quotes are spoken by an employee of the shop and not a visitor? Thanks! -- 1337star (Drop me a line!) 18:24, December 8, 2013 (UTC)

Re: :)

That's nice! Yes, I'm fine. I hope, you too.
BTW: Have you recognized that our new admin on Potter Dictionary Wiki - Alyncia has done nothing anymore in the wiki since 5 October, 2013? Very great help! I do not much I must admit, but I am there day per day. I thought I should tell you.  Harry granger   Talk   contribs 20:44, December 16, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the comments. I will follow your suggestion to post it as a blog. However, I'm new to this. So tell me how to do it. This wiki is not intuively user friendly... at leat not to me. I guess the "Publish" button means to send this. At least I hope it does.

Hello, sorry about that edit on marriage. I was attempting to fix one of the references as it appears as "Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; no text was provided for refs named DH" to me. I realize now that perhaps it is the wrong reference? Or maybe it is only like that for me? Anyway, sorry for forgetting to undo it. Albus Chase ~ Some people live more in twenty years than others do in eighty.

Oh, okay. I'm glad you could fix it; I probably would have messed up the whole page trying to figure out the coding. Albus Chase ~ Some people live more in twenty years than others do in eighty.

Thanks for the offer! I'll keep it in mind if I ever can't do anything. Albus Chase ~ Some people live more in twenty years than others do in eighty.

Hello to you. Thank you for the tips. But couldnt I put red and blue for the Disarming and Stunning Spells?. Even the picture on the Stunning Spell page is blue.AvatarQuan (talk) 16:21, January 3, 2014 (UTC)

Re: Lavender Brown

Well, that's why I used the term "black descent" - seemed the best description. However, fact is that in HalfBlood Prince, where Lavender has got the longest screen time, she's definitely white - a continuity error to the very least. MinorStoop 17:48, February 20, 2014 (UTC)

RE:User pictures

I don't see why not. The way I see it, everyone is free to practice their religion, as long as they don't shove it down other people's throats. Indeed, if we banned Christian or otherwise religious imagery, we'd have to mark several articles for deletion, since Rowling makes frequent allusions to it (Deathly Hallows is particularly worthy of note in this matter), and the films and games do some more.

Now we're on the subject, I'm more like the Fat Friar on this score: I'm what in the UK they call a "left-footer". --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 23:55, April 13, 2014 (UTC)
