The page is now listed at Category talk:Candidates for deletion. I would tend to agree with you that a fan fiction author should not be on the wiki, but since I don't read or participate in fan fiction, it may be that she is noteworthy among the fan community. We set a precedent with Wizard Rock, and have to give other parts of the HP fandom the same respect. - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 23:33, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

I don't know why, but I've been Blocked! please unblock me or give me a good reason why I have been blocked. Nevermind, I have been unblocked, though I never found out why I was in the first place, so please leave me a comment on my talk page if you know why.

Hmm ... don't know why it said you were blocked. I went through the block log and you're not listed on it as being blocked. I know Mafalda was having difficulty accessing pages yesterday so maybe you had a similar problem. - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 08:08, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

Fandom/ Fanon

Hi. I noticed several of your comments recently regarding fandom, and believe you are mixing up fandom with fanon. To clarify, fandom is about the fans of Harry Potter, which includes you and me, and everyone else on this wiki, and other fans around the world. Fanon is the act of creating new characters and situations, then trying to pass them off as "real" canonical characters in the HP universe, or incorporate the stories into articles. See Fanon for more information. Fanon of any kind is banned on this wiki.

Fandom, in and of itself, is not fanon, By including them on the wiki, we recognise notable fans that are known throughout the HP fan community. Wizard Rock is a notable outgrowth of the HP community that has become very well known, and organisations such as the HP Alliance are using the HP message of love and community and standing up for what is right to bring attention to the situation in Darfur. Examples in other fandoms are the 501st Stormtrooper Legion in Star Wars fandom who have thousands of members and are noted for their charity work amongst other things.

Note though, the use of the word "notable". Notable fans need to be recognised throughout the HP community, and need to have contributed to the larger HP fandom in some respect. I personally feel that SPoT isn't notable enough, and am thinking about a notability policy to regulate fandom entries. - Cavalier One(Wizarding Wireless Network) 14:18, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
