What's up
Hello Seth Cooper and everybody. I love the Harry Potter series. It's my favorite interest. And i love to edit Harry Potter Wiki's, wikipedia's and more. Hello again (Sorry that i hadn't wrote before).

Articles

While creating articles, you should add categories to the pages. just to let you know. --Station7 18:32, March 20, 2011 (UTC)

Image uploads

Thank you for contributing image uploads to the Harry Potter Wiki. However, your recent upload was in breach of our image policy, and has since been corrected. In future, please be sure to fill out the information template that is provided on the upload page, in particular citing the source from which the image comes from, and adding categories. This is to help keep images organised and catalogued, and to provide clear sourcing for all uploads. Please be aware that images missing this information may be subject to deletion, and, in certain cases, uploading images after being asked to provide the correct information may lead to a block for the uploader. If you have any doubts or questions regarding this, please contact one of the administrators. Thank you for your cooperation.--Cavalier One Gryffindorcrest (Wizarding Wireless Network) 08:31, March 28, 2011 (UTC)

Please read and comply with the above message. Failure to properly source and license images may lead to administrative action. Thank you for your cooperation. - Cavalier One Gryffindorcrest (Wizarding Wireless Network) 09:11, April 18, 2011 (UTC)
This is your final warning. Comply with the image policy, or face a cooldown block. - Cavalier One Gryffindorcrest (Wizarding Wireless Network) 08:22, May 18, 2011 (UTC)

Semiprotection

Adding the {{Semiprotected}} template to your userpage does not grant it semiprotected status. If you would like your userpage to be semiprotected, you need to ask an Administrator to do it. (Although the template should still not be used on userpages, even if they are protected.) - Nick O'Demus 07:46, May 18, 2011 (UTC)

Counter-spell

So, I saw you made Counter-spell a candidate for deletion and I was wondering why. If anything, I would've thought that the separate articles for counter-jinx, charm, -hex & etc. would;ve been better candidates, since their content could be added to the Counter-spell page, alowing all the info to be collated into one neat area.Green Zubat 20:38, June 28, 2011 (UTC)

Bagman in GoF?

Hello. I have noticed you have written in the "Ludovic Bagman" article that the character makes an appearance in the Goblet of Fire film. Can you provide a source? Thank you. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 21:15, June 28, 2011 (UTC)

I can't. I just thought that if he was seen sitting next to Bartemius Crouch Sr., then he was not cut from the film. --Danniesen

Verify tags

Please stop adding "Verify" tags to articles that are most obviously not fanon and that are properly sourced (i.e. Vampire). Thank you. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 20:38, July 13, 2011 (UTC)

Hi Dannisen. A few things. Users are not permited to remove the contents of their talk pages, so please do not do so again. In the future, when tagging articles for deletion, please do not blank the page. Just add the deletion tag to the top. An administrator needs to see what the article contains, so that they can make an informed decision on whether or not to delete it. Also, profanity is not allowed here. Please keep your language clean in the future. Thank you. Jayden Matthews 12:20, July 23, 2011 (UTC)

What do you mean: keep your language clean in the future.??? --Danniesen

He means to try and avoid using obscene, rude or abusive language here. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 16:53, July 23, 2011 (UTC)

New articles.

Danniesen, please don't create any more articles on unidentified, or anonymous individuals. There is currently a discussion in progress to decide whether or not to have such articles on the site at all. Also when creating new pages please make sure to format them correctly, adding sources and appearances. Jayden Matthews 16:37, July 24, 2011 (UTC)

I know it, i just forgot to add sources. --Danniesen

Sorry, dude, but you're seriously starting to get on my nerves. You've just created two new articles that you knew already existed because you directly copied and pasted the content from the original pages. This behaviour has to stop. Jayden Matthews 12:03, July 26, 2011 (UTC)

Please stop. You have glaringly undid my edits to Unidentified Slug Club Christmas party attendee without even explaining on the edit summary. Be more careful next time you edit articles. Also, Jayden has a point, the two articles you've created were somewhat pointless. Please, do be attentive to potential harm in the quality of the wiki. Thank you. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 14:10, July 26, 2011 (UTC)

Creating articles

When creating articles, do note that quality is preferrable over quantity. Your recent article, Skirmish at the Quad battlements is a copy of the Skirmish at the north battlements article, with parts removed and broken sentences and no actual new content except for the infobox. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 19:36, July 26, 2011 (UTC)

Formatting articles

Please take your time, when creating articles, to properly format and categorise them. Thank you. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 21:04, July 27, 2011 (UTC)

Skirmish in a first-floor corridor

Stop redirecting "Skirmish in a first-floor corridor" to "Skirmish on a First Floor Corridor". As a conjectural title it shouldn't be capitalised. Besides, the only thing we know it that it was fought in a corridor on the first floor; not in the First Floor Corridor. Even if this was the case, copying articles' content to a new article is not the proper way to moving them under a new title. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 15:20, July 29, 2011 (UTC)

You have been blocked for a period of 4 days, as you have persistently engaged in counter-productive edit warring even after having been warned. I hope when you return you refrain from doing so. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 15:29, July 29, 2011 (UTC)

If you haven't noticed it, i did only change the letters from small to big (example: first-floor corridor/First Floor Corridor). I haven't changed a to the. --Danniesen

Regardless, it's a conjectural title; it shouldn't be capitalised. You have repeatedly done so; edit warring is detrimental to the quality of the wiki. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 15:40, July 29, 2011 (UTC)

I have done nothing wrong. --Danniesen

You have. You have persistently, and repeatedly engaged in edit warring. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 15:57, July 29, 2011 (UTC)

I repeat: I have done nothing wrong. Since i only changed the small letters to BIG LETTERS. --Danniesen

I repeat once more: you have stubbornly engaged in edit warring. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 16:31, July 29, 2011 (UTC)

How can you blame me for simply changing small letters to big letters?? Making an article better than the previous version is not edit warring. --Danniesen

It is. As I've told you, given that it is a conjectural title, it mustn't be capitalised (save for proper nouns). I've repeatedly reverted your edit, and you have persistently changed it back. I even left a note in your talk page, but that didn't stop you from making the same thing again. That is, to all intents and purposes, edit warring. The block is final. It will expire on Tuesday, the 2nd of August. Once it expires, you can engage in editing articles once more and, hopefully, try not to make the same mistakes again. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 22:30, July 29, 2011 (UTC)

Another Priori Incantatem

Please stop copying pages as you have been told many times before, quality over quantity! Please note that your latest article, Another Priori Incantatem has been catagorized as a canidate for deletion and an administrator has been alerted of your nonsense page. Thanks, Head of Ravenclaw |   Send me an Owl! 20:35, August 11, 2011 (UTC)

Only if you can give me the reasons for Priori Incantatem in the fifth and eight film and eight video game (others than David Yates wanting wands to connect (as I saw it, the reasons about Weasley's and Death Eaters' wands share same core and most powerful wizard were good)). And write these apearances into the Appearance-section of the article.

Again

Again, please stop creating articles on unidentified or anonymous individuals. They are not needed. Also, we will certainately not be creating articles on every single wand used by an extra, so please stop linking them in articles. Thank you. Jayden Matthews 14:23, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

Removing content

Please do not remove content from your talk page as it is to be preserved for the public record. You may transfer it to an archive if you wish, but it is not to be deleted. Warnings and the like stand, regardless of whether or not you try to erase them. - Cavalier One Gryffindorcrest (Wizarding Wireless Network) 14:35, August 12, 2011 (UTC)

Orange Potter and the Deathly Apple

Actually I would like it to stay like Potter Puppet Pals did. themoticon-0159-music.gif AnnoyingOrangeandUkulele(Talk | AOW | AOW userpage | AOW talk | Subscribe | AVADA KEDAVRA!) 15:00, August 20, 2011 (UTC)

It's not the same thing. Orange Potter and the Deathly Apple is not related to the Harry Potter series. Even the title goes wrong: Deathly Hallows and Deathly Apple, Deathly Hallows refers to three objects and Deathly Apple is the evil person. The title and page is not home at this Wiki. --Danniesen

Wikipedia

Please don't copy pages from Wikipedia. Thank you. Jayden Matthews 14:25, August 28, 2011 (UTC)

Wands

Can you please cool it with the wands for a while? These articles are completely useless. you're just repeating the exact same thing over and over. Jayden Matthews 14:58, August 29, 2011 (UTC)

Okay, i also think i've made enough wands for a while. I've just finished making wands to all named playable wizardkind people in the DS/IPhone version of Lego HP Years 1-4. And not all pages have the same descriptions (e.g Stanley Shunpike's wand and Olympe Maxime's wand). --Danniesen 29 August 2011 19:14 (Denmark)

Administrator

Can i be an administrator myself? I mean, when someone makes articles that is nonsense, i can only place a Delete-tag. And sometimes when i'm doing that, another user deletes the page while i'm placing the tag. --Danniesen

Wikipedia, again

Again, please stop copying content from Wikipedia, it is considered plagerism, which is illegal. Jayden Matthews 14:41, September 11, 2011 (UTC)

This is your third and final warning. Stop plagiarizing content from Wikipedia, or I will report you. Jayden Matthews 13:09, September 14, 2011 (UTC)
Fine. --Danniesen
You say that after doing it for a fourth time. I have no choice but to report you. Jayden Matthews 13:15, September 14, 2011 (UTC)
I first got the message after i did it at the hog page. --Danniesen
That's not the point. You knew you were not supposed to do it, but you did so anyway. Taking someone else's work is, in edition to being immoral, illegal. You were fully aware of this when you did a second, third and fourth time so I see know reason whatsoever not to report you. Jayden Matthews 13:28, September 14, 2011 (UTC)
Report me to what? --Danniesen
Wikipedia. They are owned by the same company that operates this, and every other wiki, and have the abillity to block people from editing their software. Which means that you would be unable to edit any wiki ever again. They are not likely to hand out this punishment to you, but it is a possibility for repeat offenders. Jayden Matthews 13:37, September 14, 2011 (UTC)
Okay, okay. I AM SORRY. I'll never do it ever again. I promise 100%. I will not copy the pages ever again, i am so sorry. Just not block me forever and i totally promise i will never do it again, i promise. --Danniesen
Because the work belongs to the editor who originally wrote it. An attribution tag can be added if needs be, but it makes us look bad if we just copy articles from Wikipedia. At any rate the articles you wrote were completely unncessary, as have been nearly all the articles that you've written since joining this site. Jayden Matthews 15:44, September 14, 2011 (UTC)
That's a hard thing to say. Many of my articles are good and necessary. --Danniesen

RE : Horrible english

I'm not agree with you Danniesen... I'm not a native english speaker too cause I'm french. Nobody forced you to use Google translate and introduce the text on the wiki: Google translate is a tool that anybody can use for his own comfort and there's no need to introduce later the text "Google translated" cause it's obvious that it's no a perfect language... Like we say in french "ça pique les yeux" --   Famini    talk    contribs   16:40, September 13, 2011 (UTC)

Delete tags

Please stop removing delete tags from articles. They are to be removed only after a consensus is reached. If you disagree with the article being deleted discuss it at Category talk:Candidates for deletion. You might think the subject is article worthy but apparently others do not if they put the delete tag on the article. This means the subject must be discussed so a community consensus can be reached. Keep it up and I will report you to the administrators. -Shorty1982 11:23, September 15, 2011 (UTC)

What part of "do not remove delete tags" do you not understand? You have been told many times, by both fellow editors and administrators, that Delete tags CANNOT be removed without discussion. IMO you're cruising for another block. -Shorty1982 15:11, September 28, 2011 (UTC)

Snatchers

Please stop adding pictures of random Snatchers to the article on Greyback's gang. Jayden Matthews 19:11, October 4, 2011 (UTC)

Are they not Greyback's gang?? I thought that Greyback were the Leader of all Snatchers. --Danniesen September 5 2011, 07:32 (Denmark)

RE:The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

You mean the theme park? It is located in Orlando, Florida; that's in the United States, not England. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 18:53, October 18, 2011 (UTC)

Semiprotected Tags and Blanking Pages

Removing the "delete" tag from a page and adding the "semiprotected" tag in its place does not actually block the article from changes. Only an administrator can actually apply protection to a page (that tag is merely for informational purposes) and removing the delete tag from a page is never considered acceptable without a discussion first unless the tag was clearly added as vandalism (for example - if someone added one to an article such as Harry Potter.) Also, blanking a page simply because you disagree with its contents is definitely against policy. ProfessorTofty 16:37, October 25, 2011 (UTC)

Delete tags, again

How many time must you be told, delete tags are NOT to be removed without a community discussion? IMO you need to stop working on creating new articles and start working on improving existing ones. Remember, quality over quantity. -Shorty1982 16:55, October 25, 2011 (UTC)

Creating more pages on "Unidentified such-and-such"

As there have been issues on the notability of the subjects of articles you have been creating recently (i.e. Unidentified 1996 Quidditch practice spectator student (IV)), I'd advise you to stop creating articles on unidentified individuals until such a time we decide to keep them or to delete them, as doing otherwise would be counter-productive for you and for the community in general. Thank you. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 19:54, October 26, 2011 (UTC)

Just wanted to draw your attention to this information from an administrator, to remind you that he advises you to STOP creating articles on unidentified individuals. -Shorty1982 22:45, October 31, 2011 (UTC)

RE:Arsenius Jigger

There's a precedent. Read about Julie Parkes and what was decided on the article's talk page. Or the Archie mentioned in Goblet of Fire, and the Archie Aymslowe mentioned in Pottermore. Given that Arsenius Jigger is a known Potion textbook author, it is a safe assumption that the propmakers intended Jigger to be the same person. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 18:08, November 2, 2011 (UTC)

A stylistic choice, probably. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 18:50, November 2, 2011 (UTC)

Friendly reminder

I can see you've been reminded of this at the very top of the page, but I'm re-reminding you to make sure you add the proper categories to an article when you create it. It helps other users to find the page in question, especially since most of the articles you create (minor unidentified characters, letters, etc.) probably will never, or very rarely, be linked to by other articles (and this isn't me trying to say that's a bad thing, just stating a fact). -- 1337star (talk) 18:46, November 3, 2011 (UTC)

And I hate to bring up the same thing again, but I just had to add categories to the article that you created-- Harry Potter's letter about the Quidditch World Cup events and his dream to Sirius Black. Again, when you create the article, please just add the appropriate categories. It only takes a few seconds and it really helps people when it comes to finding pages, besides the fact that it's a required rule of style for all pages. ProfessorTofty 19:35, November 7, 2011 (UTC)

Official administrative warning

Having read through your talk page and seeing multiple warnings and reminders to follow this Wiki's policies, and seeing that you do not heed them in the slightest, I am issuing you with an official warning. Change your editing behaviour - by which, I mean starting to categorise your new articles, stop creating pointless and unnecessary articles, stop removing delete tags, stop copying non-relevant HP info from Wikipedia, etc, etc - or I will have no choice but to block you from editing. It is unfair for other editors to have to constantly warn you of mistakes that you are making time and time again, and to see their efforts to change your editing behaviour be for nought. Other editors have been blocked for less. I will be monitoring your edits closely. - Cavalier One Gryffindorcrest (Wizarding Wireless Network) 09:11, November 9, 2011 (UTC)

Your recent articles

It appears that Cavalier's warning has had as little impact on your behaviour as all the others you have recieved in the past year. For the record creating articles on individuals whose name's are mentioned in a single song heard on the radio in a single (non-canon) scene in a single film most definately falls under the category of "unnecessary". I'm begging you please concentrate you efforts on more constructive endeavours, such as reverting vandalism, fixing spelling mistakes etc. There are plenty of things you could do that would be of great benefit to the community. Jayden Matthews 13:23, November 11, 2011 (UTC)

Firstly, remeber to sign your talk page posts in the future. Secondly, if you find me overly critical perhaps it's because of the sheer contempt you show towards the rules of this community, and towards those who have been trying for the past year to help you improve. I didn't say anything particularly harsh in my last post. I even suggested some things you could do that would be helpfull. As for the matter at hand... very few of the articles you have created have been "necessary". The fact that the vast majority of them (including the two we are discussing) have been deleted should be evidence of this. The other articles that you pointed out are unique to Harry Potter and serve the purpose of highliting those who went missing to during Voldemort reign. There is such a thing as free speech here, and if you feel that an article is unnecessary then you are free to propose it's deletion, stating your reason. As your talk page demonstrates I am from far the only editor here who has taken issue with your behaviour, so please don't take your frustration out on me. Instead, I suggest your read through the many, many number of complaints you have recieved, and try to learn from them, rather than ignore them as you have been doing. Jayden Matthews 20:07, November 11, 2011 (UTC)

Please tell me how names mentioned in one song in a single scene of a movie are relevant to the Harry Potter universe. They're not. There's a huge difference between someone who is only mentioned in a song, is seen only in the background or mentioned by a background character in passing and being mentioned on Potterwatch. Potterwatch is top level canon from J. K. Rowling herself. -Shorty1982 01:19, November 12, 2011 (UTC)

Disc 2

Hey, there. Just a friendly reminder; it is unnecessary to add the appearances of certain characters/objects/locations on special features on "Disc 2" if the footage comes from the films themselves (i.e. Thomas Riddle tombstone appears in a special feature in Disc 2 of Order of the Phoenix, but that footage comes from the Goblet of Fire). Thanks. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 21:46, November 12, 2011 (UTC)

Once again, please stop adding "Disk 2" as an appearnce. Stock footage that appears in the bonus features does not constitute a legitimate appearance. Jayden Matthews 21:12, November 14, 2011 (UTC)

Cooldown block

Per Cav's administrative warning, you have been blocked from editing the Harry Potter Wiki for a period of four weeks (28 days). Rethink your editing behaviour as this is your third block: next time, you might leave us no other choice but to use stricter means of administrative action (i.e. a permanent block). Thank you. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 21:30, November 14, 2011 (UTC)

I might be wrong, but i only think it is my second block. --Danniesen 22:38, 14 November, 2011 (Denmark)

They were three. Check your block log here. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 21:42, November 14, 2011 (UTC)

When you decide to unblock me i think i will start it all over. I will listen to your warnings, and do what you say. --Danniesen 07:26, 15 November, 2011 (Denmark)

Good catch on those being in Deathly Hallows. I forgot that those things showed up in there as well. Actually, I think they have a certain charm, at least the ones in the film, anyway. I'm sure if I saw them as described in the book, I'd be just as disgusted as Harry was. ProfessorTofty 23:21, December 15, 2011 (UTC)

RE:Official Ministerial Business

The "Official Ministerial Business" bit of the ID was just saying that Hopkirk was only authorised to enter her department on business (or, whilst working). There are multiple other things capitalised by mistake on the ID text (i.e. "Signature", "Photograph", "Disclose"), this just seems to be yet another typo. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 21:28, December 22, 2011 (UTC)

Lavender Brown's skin color

Do you realise how offensive it is to describe someone's ethnicity as a "disease"? Lavendar's skin color changes from dark to light because she's played by different actresses. It doesn't need to be listed in the infobox twice, and it definately doesn't need to be explained away by her being dieseased! Oh, and don't think I haven't noticed that you have once again disregarded Cavalier One's warning about copying content from Wikipedia. Jayden Matthews 11:49, December 26, 2011 (UTC)

I wasn't replying to you, I posted that before I relalised you had messaged me. I was just pointing out how utterly disgusting what you wrote was, and that your attempts to continue your deliberately unconstructive behaviour unnoticed is not succeeding. Jayden Matthews 13:15, December 26, 2011 (UTC)
I don't consider you my "enemy". Seriously, I'm not that petty. But frankly, the chances of us being friends is slim, simply because I find you so frustrating to deal with. The last time you were blocked you promised to change your behaviour upon your return. You have not done so in the slightest, quite the opposite, you have treated it as an oppertunity to carry on as before, in the hope that people here will have forgotten that you were supposed to be on your "final warning" several warnings ago. And FYI, just because I haven't tagged something for deletion it doesn't mean I'm "happy" with it. It means I've got better things to do. Jayden Matthews 13:56, December 26, 2011 (UTC)

Jack Russell Terrier

Is there any point in me asking you why you've copied yet another pointless article from Wikipedia? Can you not control yourself? I reported your ealier infractions to Seth, and he is considering permanently banning you from this site if you continue to violate your many, many warnings. Be warned. Jayden Matthews 13:07, December 28, 2011 (UTC)

Yes, it was about you, and yes you did copy the text from Wikipedia. I know, because I checked. Simply rearranging it does not make you the author. You could have added the attribution tag, like I suggested, but once again you ignore any attept to help you. 2011 was a bad year for you because you made it so. All anyone is asking of you is that you follow the rules of this site, like everybody else, but you seem to think that is beneth you. You're not a special case so I don't see why you should get the option of "changing your behaviour" in the new year rather than now. I take it that means you will be carrying on as usual until then? I'm not an admin (if I was you'd have been banned long ago) so you don't need my permision to create a new page. What you need to do is read through your talk page, realise where you've been going wrong, and think before you hit the edit button. Jayden Matthews 15:13, December 28, 2011 (UTC)
All the Harry Potter Wiki's policies can be found here. Also, I'm not sure what your intentions were on the magical creatures but your edit was most definately not helpfull, and had to be reverted. Jayden Matthews 15:41, December 28, 2011 (UTC)

Sign

It's a sign! As other many other users in the wiki! What's your problem? --   Famini    talk    contribs   11:20, January 1, 2012 (UTC)

For the record, users are allowed their own sub-pages for things like signitures, article drafts etc. Also, once again, users are not permitted to remove messages from their talk page, unless of course in the case of vandalism, or abuse. Jayden Matthews 15:01, January 1, 2012 (UTC)

Categories, Again

For what it's worth, I am going to ask once again, when you create a new article, please add it to at least one category that it belongs in. It's required for all articles in main and it helps people to find articles. ProfessorTofty 15:33, January 5, 2012 (UTC)

Is there any reason why you have once again not bothered to add any categories to your most recent creation? Jayden Matthews 14:00, January 28, 2012 (UTC)
What is it with you all?? I just forgot it. I thought this WIKI was about updating and editing pages. I just forgot it! I'm sorry if i'm destroying the whole wiki because i forgot it. --Danniesen 21:20, January 28, 2012 (Denmark)
It's just considered a courtesy, that's all. If you create some new articles and maybe once or twice you don't include the categories, people are willing to accept that you forgot it. But when it happens almost all the time, it begins to seem less like simple forgetfulness and more like a habit. ProfessorTofty 20:27, January 28, 2012 (UTC)
I know. Furthermore, if you haven't noticed, all my creations since your message on January 5 have had at least one category after my creation of it, except the latest. --Danniesen 21:54, January 28, 2012 (Denmark)
And I do appreciate your efforts in trying to file articles into categories, though you should also take care to make sure that they are the correct categories. For example, Creatures is a subcategory of Magizoology and the articles on Crab and Scorpion belong there and not in Magizoology. In any case, English Channel is another example of an article that you created without categories, and someone else had to add them, and that was created on 23 January. Duck being another example. So if someone is jumping on you for not adding categories, it's because of an established editing pattern and not simple forgetfulness. Edit - regarding the Magizoology thing, I don't know why that's the case, but somehow you added the category using the coding for a template instead and it put it in the wrong category. I fixed it up. ProfessorTofty 21:49, January 28, 2012 (UTC)
Okay, English Channel and Duck didn't get any categories, but besides them, there's not a single one that I didn't categorize. And about putting Magizoology Category into Crab and Scorpion wasn't me. --Danniesen 22:58, January 28, 2012 (Denmark)
It was you, actually, but like I said, it was just a mistake. You inadvertently you used this type of bracket - { } as if you were adding a template, instead of this type of bracket - [ ], and that caused it to go to the wrong category. I fixed it, though. ProfessorTofty 22:07, January 28, 2012 (UTC)

Okay, thanks. I didn't remember what type of bracket I had to use at that time. --Danniesen 23:34, January 28, 2012 (Denmark)

Griphook

Hello, there. What is your source to your recent edit on the Griphook article? I am pretty sure he wasn't fired in Philosopher's Stone (the details of why he left Gringotts are explained in Deathly Hallows), but I could be wrong. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 20:12, February 22, 2012 (UTC)

I just came to that solution when looking at the Daily Prophet picture in Philosopher's Stone of a goblin that accused Griphook in (happened shortly after the Break-In), and when Bogrod in Deathly Hallows mentioned that Griphook left his keys. If Griphook wasn't fired he would keep the keys in case he had the chance of returning to Gringotts. --Danniesen 21:32, February 22, 2012 (Denmark)
We can't just add two and two and come up with five. There's no evidence at all that he was fired; in fact, in Deathly Hallows he says "Gringotts is no longer under the sole control of my race. I recognize no Wizarding master." and after refusing performing "duties ill-befitting the dignity of my race." which means he left voluntarily (hence why he was on the run in 1997). --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 20:43, February 22, 2012 (UTC)

Re:Blue Racer

You're right, I can't delete it since I'm not an admin. :p

Anyway, to answer the implied question, at no point in the game (I'm assuming, anyway, based on your comment for this edit is it referred to as a blue racer; you're merely assuming that it is because you think it looks like one. That would be what Wikipeida calls original research, and is no more permitted here than it is there. -- 1337star (Drop me a line!) 05:59, March 27, 2012 (UTC)

Blue Racer, Opheodrys

Whenever making a claim in any article of this wiki, we must support it with factual evidence from any of the official canon sources. By claiming that those snakes are this or that species, you are delving into original research. Nothing in the games, as far as I know, explicitly identifies the snakes' species as a Blue Racer or Opheodrys and, as such, that information is non verifiable and has no basis in canon information whatsoever.

If we were to make assumptions of that kind, we could say that the Defence Against the Dark Arts staircase was a structure that was magically taken from St. Paul's Cathedral, in London - just because they look the same! Or, even better, we could say that, given their physical similarities in the films, Harry Potter and Daniel Radcliffe were the same person! That would be, and I think you would agree with me, ludicrous at best, and idiocy at worst. --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 17:43, March 27, 2012 (UTC)

If there are no sources that support the articles being kept, they are to be deleted. Should I do it? --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 18:11, March 27, 2012 (UTC)

Image uploads

No offense but the images you upload are really rather dreadfull. It looks like your just taking photos of your tv or computer screen. Could you not take screenshots instead? Jayden Matthews 10:47, April 1, 2012 (UTC)

Do you play on PC or console? Jayden Matthews 13:08, April 1, 2012 (UTC)
On PC it's a simple matter of pressing Ctrl + PrintScreen while in gameplay. Your computer will automatically take an image of what's on the screen and should send it someplace like "My pictures". Jayden Matthews 11:21, April 2, 2012 (UTC)
You can't take screenshots on a console. At least, not to my knowledge. Does your PC have a built-in DVD player? If so then it's the same procedure as with the game. Just play the movie and when you get to the scene that you want to capture press Ctrl and PrintScreen. Let me know if it works. Jayden Matthews 10:16, April 3, 2012 (UTC)
Do you have an image program? Even something basic, like paint? Jayden Matthews 16:00, April 4, 2012 (UTC)
In what way? Jayden Matthews 16:16, April 4, 2012 (UTC)
What happens when you try? Jayden Matthews 16:33, April 4, 2012 (UTC)
So you can paste the screenshot into paint, but you can't save it in paint? Is the save button faded out, or does it bring up a warning message when you try and save the image? Jayden Matthews 10:45, April 7, 2012 (UTC)

Naming

The names you are attempting to give to the Skirmish at the Room of Requirement and the Onslaught at the Viaduct are unsuitable names for an article. To compare, Voldemort's Last Stand sounds like the name of a real battle (much like, say, Custer's Last Stand), and Courtyard Apocalypse, while a bit of a stretch, could feasibly be one as well. Fiendfyre Frenzy and A Giant Problem do not fit this requirement. -- 1337star (Drop me a line!) 05:43, April 11, 2012 (UTC)

The names you are providing refer to the levels of the Lego video game. They should not be interpreted as canocial titles for the in-universe battles/skirmishes, for which there are of course none. All of them being part of the Battle of Hogwarts. I'd aslo advise you against edit-warring, which you are currently guilty of. Jayden Matthews 09:15, April 11, 2012 (UTC)

Images, again

Again, please stop uploading photographs of your PC/TV screen. These images are not suitable for use on the wiki due to their low-resoloution, shaky camera angles, lighting, the glare from your camera's flash, reflections in the screen etc etc. Thank you. Jayden Matthews 10:33, April 12, 2012 (UTC)

There's no policy against uploading literal screen captures (i.e. photos of a TV screen or computer monitor). I understand there may be no other choice for someone dealing with media in a format for which they don't have the means to take a digital screen capture: I've personally had to resort to photographing my TV before to get screen captures from my Harry Potter Blu-rays because my computer won't read Blu-ray discs.
However, we want to make sure the images used on this wiki are of good quality, so it helps to follow these steps when photographing a screen/monitor to get the best results:
1. Turn the flash off on your camera.
2. If you have a flat-screen/hi-def TV, use this over a traditional TV. The matte screen will reduce reflection and glare, plus it will give you better picture quality.
3. Make sure there isn't a light source like a lamp or window behind the screen. Also try to take the picture in a dark room. This will help reduce reflections on the screen.
4. Take multiple shots. That way you can choose the best one.
5. Use a graphics program to fix up the image: rotate it if it's at the wrong angle, reduce the size to smooth out pixelation, adjust the colour balance more toward red if the screen backlighting gives it a blue glow, etc.
Here's an example of an edited TV-screen capture: File:LoachDairies.jpg. Starstuff (Owl me!) 11:24, April 12, 2012 (UTC)
Let me just make sure I've got everything correct, so I can best advise you. You can take the screenshot, and paste it into paint, correct? Jayden Matthews 09:40, April 16, 2012 (UTC)
Okay, so what happens when you try and save the file? Jayden Matthews 14:31, April 16, 2012 (UTC)
Saying? Jayden Matthews 18:47, April 16, 2012 (UTC)

Warning

I know you've been warned (literally) dozens of times about both these issues, but I see it it necessary to do so once again. Jayden Matthews 17:13, April 21, 2012 (UTC)

A: Do NOT remove maintenance templates (such as the "candidate for deletion tag) from articles without discussion.

B: Do NOT copy content from Wikipedia without adding the attribution tag.

This is the Wikipedia attribution tag. I've now mentioned it four times to you. I'm sure the administration would very much appreciate it if you didn't copy and paste Wikipedia content at all. Especially not for such inane, pointless articles as "Bird", "Pyrotechnic", etc. They serve no purpose whatsoever, and only lower the quality of this wiki. Cavalier One asked you to stop doing this last year, but you've stubbornly continued. Jayden Matthews 17:44, April 21, 2012 (UTC)

Banned

This cannot go on. A quick skim over this page reveals that you have been warned (and, in many cases, helped and advised) multiple times to change your incorrect editing behaviour, and that you simply and deliberately pay no attention to such reminders. This has been going on for just over a year; we've been pretty lenient, perhaps too much. Anyway, this simply cannot go on as it is. To quote Cavalier One (despite his warning has fallen on deaf ears), "other editors have been blocked for less". That being said, and in accordance with my final warning (November 14, 2011), I am officially enforcing your permanent block. I am sorry — I assure you I wished you became a valued and useful contributor, but you simply did not listen.

Yours, --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 14:52, April 25, 2012 (UTC)

I don't know what this last one is about. --Danniesen 17:39, April 25, 2012 (Denmark)

Hi everyone. I know it's too late, but i just scrolled down through all the messages that i have and just now realised my many mistakes on this Wiki by ignoring your many, many, many warnings, advice and help. I just want to say that I have been a huge jerk and a fool that did not pay attention to any of this. I am really sorry that you had to waste your time on a stupid dummy like me. I didn't mean to do this. I have been warned so many times not to remove Delete-tags, copy content from Wikipedia, stop edit-warring, stop adding useless pages, stop nonsense editing and do categorize pages and more and did only pay attention to some of my messages, if any. I realize my foolish behaviour and respect my permanent block. I just wished that I had been a better editor to this Wiki, knowing that i do not deserve another chance, but would be very happy if I get one. I am not asking as a person who really wants to come back, but rather an ex-editor that are begging you on my crying knees. I have been the biggest jerk that have ever existed on Earth and know that I cannot change it. I am very deeply sorry you had to deal with me. I actually took my time and wrote this apologize two times because it did not save the message the first time and to show my sadness. --Danniesen 21:54, April 25, 2012 (Denmark)

There is no way that I can return, is there? --Danniesen 20:31, April 27, 2012 (Denmark)

I had a really long time off from my user and now even as an 'Unidentified' I haven't been on so much. I had a really long time to think and since the start of December I haven't done any damage to the Wiki. I've only tried to help. I have added info to pages that needed, made better quality to different pages and behaved what I think was in a pretty useful manner. I've also got useful information to the Wiki. So I'm not asking you to respect me, I'm asking for a chance more to show that I'm useful. I'm not trying to ruin the Wiki, I'm just trying to help. --DCLM (talk) 18:27, May 18, 2013 (UTC)

Forum Danniesen

I see you haven't told me about your two conversations about me, but there's no need to because I read it myself. Although it was hard to read I accept and agree that I haven't been the best to do what you told me, although I tried to help. I see my mistakes as they are and I think it went wrong about a year after I made my account (correct me if I'm wrong). I am truly sorry about what I did and deeply request you let me back. I will really try to do better this time, knowing that I don't have third chance, in case you let me back. I want to do better than I've done. --DCLM (talk) 11:33, May 20, 2013 (UTC)

Well, usually banned users aren't informed of conversations about them... and perhaps you should read the second forum again, as the general census on that one was to let you back sometime through the week on the condition that doing anything you aren't supposed to will lead to an infinite block. An admin will probably remind you of that when the time comes to let you return. --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 11:51, May 20, 2013 (UTC)
I understand, I just read this: "Alrighty. Danniesen probably should be notified about this conversation, to make sure he understands the terms on which he is to be welcomed back" which I took as that you would inform me. But, it doesn't matter, as I read it myself. --DCLM (talk) 11:58, May 20, 2013 (UTC)
The admins will still remind you themselves when they unblock you. Just a quick friendly tip, though - a lot of the policies have changed since August 2012 and even I have to re-read them every week or two just to make sure I've got everything down pat. I'd recommend checking them out. --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 12:08, May 20, 2013 (UTC)
Can you send me the link? I don't exactly remember what they are called in the name. --DCLM (talk) 12:17, May 20, 2013 (UTC)
At the top of most pages beside the logo, you'll see "On the Wiki", "Books", "Films", "Characters" and "Community". Hover over the "Community" one and "Policies" is the third one. Nonetheless, here they are :) --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 12:20, May 20, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks. --DCLM (talk) 13:00, May 20, 2013 (UTC)
No problem. Hopefully we get along this well the whole time we're both here. --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 13:03, May 20, 2013 (UTC)
Of course. I also just read the Policies. It didn't seem to change so much. :) --DCLM (talk) 13:38, May 20, 2013 (UTC)

Return to Harry Potter Wiki

Well, per your request, and the discussion we have had, which I see from the above you are aware of, we have decided to welcome you back to the Harry Potter Wiki. Please be aware that this is a highly unusual and possibly unique decision (I don't know of any past cases where anyone who had been issued an indefinite block was allowed to come back.) At least for a while, you may consider that you are on on "probation," however, unlike what happened with Umbridge, this certainly isn't an attempt at harassment, but rather a good faith effort on our part that you have recognised your mistakes and misbehaviour of the past and are willing to change. That said, while we aren't trying to pounce on you if you make any mistake, we are going to be monitoring your edits and you should take particular care when it comes to anything you have been warned about in the past on this talk page. I would also advise against creating any new pages for at least a month or more until you've settled back in. In any case, welcome back to the Harry Potter Wiki and here's hoping you will continue to be a valuable contributor for a good, long time to come. ProfessorTofty (talk) 23:47, May 20, 2013 (UTC)

I am very thankful for that. I like the little comment you made about Umbridge... That was quite fun to read. --DCLM (talk) 10:14, May 21, 2013 (UTC)

It's perhaps not surprising that an edit clash occurred, as we were both on to the same vandal edit at the same time. This happens often.

Incidentally, as this edit was the fifth vandal edit this account has made in only two days, and as he has never made a constructive edit, I've reported the account to the admins. — RobertATfm (talk) 15:00, July 19, 2013 (UTC)

Starstuff reason for blocking

The user Starstuff is being completely unfair. He says I haven't learned anything from my previous blocks and blocked me. I told that I didn't know the thing about Rosenbaum before he explained his removal of information that I put into the article. And then he blocked me, I told that I didn't do it to vandalize the page, I truly thought it was helpful, and I did not put in the information after he explained why he removed it. I think it's unfair. --DCLM (talk) 14:48, August 8, 2013 (UTC)

I have done nothing than being helpful, or trying to, since ProfessorTofty unblocked me, until this little misunderstanding. I said both to him and Starstuff and Seth Cooper that I only added the information because I thought it was helpfull until Starstuff explained why he removed the information. I stopped adding it after he explained as I thought I was doing the right thing, it was just a misunderstanding. --DCLM (talk) 15:06, August 8, 2013 (UTC)
It's not "complaining" to call out a pattern of editing that's clearly detrimental to the wiki. We can all be forgiven for making a mistake every now and then, since we're all human, but when someone constantly shows undue care in the edits they make and inserts false and unnecessary information into articles, it's a different story. Then they are not contributing to the wiki in a constructive manner, but are simply creating more work for productive editors, who must now dedicate time that could be spent on other things to monitoring and cleaning up unhelpful edits.
This isn't just about Rosenbaum's. It's about Spellbound yesterday. Invincible 350 was the final straw — cutting-and-pasting the content of Invincible 750 Super into another article and simply changing the number. It's about all the time that I and other editors have to take away from doing other things in order to sort out unhelpful edits such as this.
I don't like having to block people. I prefer warnings and guidance as a first resort. But you were blocked once previously and granted a second chance, so you should have known better than to make the kind of edits that you have been making. Starstuff (Owl me!) 15:19, August 8, 2013 (UTC)
About Spellbound I tried to create a new page called Witch Wonder Band that spans information about all-witch bands, and about the Invincible 350 page I didn't know what to say else. But I can remove the information and add some totally different information if you prefer that. I just hope I can convince you about this, then I will fix that little situation right away. --DCLM (talk) 15:29, August 8, 2013 (UTC)
Okay... Listen. I have done many stupid edits over the years I have been here. I have ignored all your warnings and friendly advice and have been blocked, what?, six times or so. In the very beginning I was a good editor of this Wikia and provided only useful edits to it. But then, I don't remember the exact date, I was being only myself and did only what I thought was useful, I remember a period that I used only to create new wand-pages. I only added pages of no value at all, or with some useful information that you all thought was unnecessary. I did swing up and down between being useful, providing pages that were of great value, and being irritating and unhelpful, creating only unnecessary, unuseful and stupid pages of no value at all. Finally, I was banned for doing it, and I asked for days to come back, until I dropped the concept for months until finally asking to come back and was allowed to come back, having my ban being removed. Then I created only useful information that helped all the pages and this Wikia. Until yesterday when I tried to create the page Witch Wonder Band which was removed again, as you apparently thought different about it. And then today I provided information to a page that you removed, but all I wanted was an explanation to why it was removed. Then you explained why you removed my information and I fully understand your explanation about it and stopped adding that particular information and added another page that was a company owned by a character that created both things, making it two different things. Then I cut-and-pasted information into a new page only because I didn't have anything else to say about it, but I can show that I won't cut-and-paste it again and create information of its own to its page if you will trust that I do do it. --DCLM (talk) 16:05, August 8, 2013 (UTC)
To add to my good side, and in the hope it can help me, I have also at some points pointed out useful stuff, such as adding three new letters, one of which also was non-canon, and pointing out real people that have been made in-universe. --DCLM (talk) 16:23, August 8, 2013 (UTC)
I want to know exactly what you mean by "unnecessary pages" that you say I have been making. --DCLM (talk) 15:55, August 9, 2013 (UTC)

I see that Startstuff just remove information he don't understand without researching the source for the info first. --DCLM (talk) 22:22, August 10, 2013 (UTC)
Danniesen, this isn't acceptable. You were given a second chance, but you were blocked again for a number of reasons, including edit-warring, and I agree that given your probationary status, it was perfectly reasonable if an admin should choose to block you again for any reason, even with limited notice. You're going to have to accept your block, and if you keep using this talk page in this manner, the settings can be changed so that you're no longer allowed to edit it either. And, BTW, Starstuff is female. ProfessorTofty (talk) 22:35, August 10, 2013 (UTC)
All I said was she removed my edit to the The Adventures of Martin Miggs, the Mad Muggle saying that there are at least 6 issues of the story, information I got from the PS1 version of "Philosopher's Stone". Furthermore, my try to provide information for you to add, which is at the top of this section, was just ignored, I'm not saying I don't accept my block. --DCLM (talk) 22:42, August 10, 2013 (UTC)
I believe she was confused as to exactly what you were trying to say there. I'll add the information back in and try to clarify it. ProfessorTofty (talk) 22:49, August 10, 2013 (UTC)
Okay, thanks. No hate is meant. If you want me to specify; the information can be read as one of the many notes on the board in the Common Room. --DCLM (talk) 22:53, August 10, 2013 (UTC)

Hunnie Bunn found an article about a real life Frank Bryce, as I read Frank's talk page, and I wonder if it would be useful if it was added to Frank Bryce's page that he is loosely based on this real-life man? --DCLM (talk) 10:18, August 11, 2013 (UTC)

Talk page

I left this talk page editable in my initial block because I thought it would be fair to leave open one channel of communication through which you could contact us in the future should a matter of significance arise. Over the last couple of days, however, you have used this page as a platform to express your frustrations against me. You have also left suggestions for articles which, while appearing well-intentioned and harmless, violate the spirit of your block. Being under a block means that one is no longer a participating member of the Harry Potter Wiki. It means moving on, not lingering around, trying to make one's continued presence known despite the fact that one's welcome has worn out. That's like someone being banned from a restaurant for acting out of line there, then going back the next day with a list of suggestions for how to improve the seating, typo corrections for the menu, etc. They could argue, "I'm just trying to be helpful," but it'd clearly be a provocatory act, meant to challenge the restaurant's decision to ban them.

In light of the fact that, since your block, you have been misusing this page — which was left open in good faith as a courtesy to you — I am sorry to say that I must now render it uneditable by you. Starstuff (Owl me!) 11:42, August 11, 2013 (UTC)
