Re: A question

It was voted upon by the community to use past tense in all in-universe articles. They're written as if they're historical records being read by someone in the far future (e.g. like a history book). It just keeps everything consistent and prevents jumping back and forth between tenses. And no need to apologize for asking; everybody here was new at one point. To get a better understanding of the wiki, you might want to read the policies. And never be afraid to ask for help. There's no such thing as a stupid question; the only stupid questions are the ones that are never asked. --Cubs Fan (Talk to me) 07:36, December 15, 2011 (UTC)

Potter Noyz

Just wondering - is there a particular reason why you marked the Potter Noyz article for deletion? As far as I can tell, there is nothing in particular that sets it apart from any of the other wrock band articles. And until we pass the new notability standards, none of those are going away. Re: Duplicated links

Well, in my experience, the convention is to add a link the first time a topic is mentioned (in your example, links to Ron's article in the Harry Potter article). I think once in every section is enough that nobody will miss it. --Cubs Fan (Talk to me) 07:07, February 21, 2012 (UTC)

Re:Minor video game character birthdates

Sorry for the tardy reply. Ginny Weasley was born on August 11, 1981, but was in the year after Harry, so the cut-off date for Hogwarts attendance is indeed August 31 of every year. It's unknown whether the Hogwarts acceptance letters for first-years are all sent out at the same time, or if the ones for children who won't turn eleven until the summer are individually timed to arrive around their birthdays. Harry's first Hogwarts acceptance letter arrived exactly one week before his 11th birthday in PS, and Harry and Ron got their second-year letters on August 12 in CoS (the day after Ginny's birthday), but it isn't mentioned if Ginny got her acceptance letter at the same time or if it arrived earlier.
