what do wizards do, what is their purpose?

·  I have seen the movies and my question is: what do wizards do, what is their purpose, do they have a job or a function in the world. Yes they can perform magic, fly on broom sticks and battle each other but what is the task they have? Why where they created, to what end? What do they do after they finish school? You see to have these special power they must have something important to do? ·  Muggles are easy to understand, they are only here to make more babies to grow-up and be wage slaves for the rich, but wizards must have a purpose. And that raises another question, are the rich and famous all wizards and witches? ·  Do wizards and witches have jobs, how do they support themselves?·  OK they have jobs and make magic but do they have a function? ·  A purpose? ·  The evil ones like Voldemort want to take over the world but the others must have a reason for being created. Or are they just like Muggles, born and live for no particular reason.
