What Harry Potter Means To Me

I solemnly swear that I will love Harry Potter forever.

When I opened up the first page of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, I had no idea that the story would completely come to life and evolve into a lifelong passion of mine.

There is so much to be learned from this amazing book. It has taught me about friendship, hope, courage, unconditional love, being content with who I am, and to never give up fighting for what is right. The lessons taught in Harry Potter are important in developing good character, and as Harry, Ron and Hermione were learning them, so was I.

Harry Potter has been a great escape from reality and has transformed into something much more than ink on paper. To me, Harry Potter means 4am discussions and debates with total strangers who can become best friends. It means laughing one minute at a joke that Ron has told, to sobbing the next, because Sirius just fell behind the veil. Watching my childhood disapparate but still having a Harry Potter book or movie to see. And finally realizing that J.K. Rowling couldn’t keep writing Harry Potter books forever and that eventually all we would have left are fond memories.

It has been a magical experience turning all 4,175 pages of this brilliant series and I will cherish it for the rest of my life. Let’s all raise our glass (of butterbeer of course) and make a toast to Harry Potter, the boy who will forever live in our hearts and who’s story will stand the test of time.
