Well, my trip has begun and I am now on my way to Wikia's headquarters, where I shall discover the deepest secrets of Wikia. ... ... Okay, well, maybe not, but it should be a good time.

Currently I am in the Dallas Airport, waiting for the trip to San Francisco. Trip's been fine so far - flight to Dallas departed a bit later than scheduled, but then arrived earlier than scheduled, so I've got a bit of extra time.

Some exciting news - Wikia has offered me a free trip to their headquarters in California at the end of this month. I'll be spending a day there at their headquarters and while there, I'll be learning about and discussing the latest features for videos on Wikia. The travel expenses are entirely paid, so it's a pretty neat deal.

Hallowe'en has come, and the ghosts and goblins are out!

We celebrate Hallowe'een here on the Harry Potter Wiki, but for Harry Potter, Hallowe'en brings mixed feelings, as this way the day that he lost his parents, James and Lily Potter to Lord Voldemort, who was certainly out on on trick-or-treating expedition that night.

I was over at the Community Wiki and I spotted something interesting - the Harry Potter Wiki is in fifth place on the top entertainment wikis. Our popularity exceeds even that of the Star Trek Wiki, Memory Alpha, and other wikis just below us include the Digimon Wiki and the Marvel Database. I assume these rankings must be popularity, as Memory Alpha is far larger in terms of content than us. Wikis that are more popular at this time include Wookiepedia, the Star Wars wiki (and no surprise, it's massive) and the Dragon Ball Wiki.

Pretty thrilling to be in the top five, and hopefully we can push ahead even further!
