Create House-cup comp

The Quidditch Cup is an competition to earn points for the House Points Game.

Joining

Only people who have signed up for the House-points game can compete. To sign up for the house-points game, add your name to the Participant list. You may only be a member of one House team for the purposes of this competition — if you have more than one account, those which participate in the competition must all be in the same House team. Please add a userbox for your in-game House team to your userpage(s). Please join your house Quidditch team participants list.

Game

The referee, Matoro183, will choose an article that he believes that needs an huge expanation and rewrite. All teams will edit this article for an month, then Matoro183 will judge which one was the best rewrite. The winning team will win 50 points and a trophy for the house team's pitch. All rewrites will be added to the main article.

Rules

  • No put downs: Name-calling and malicious criticism are unacceptable. Also consider whether attempts to show House pride may unintentionally come across as disparaging toward the other House teams.
  • No badgering: You may ask users to join your team and encourage members of your team to work toward a goal. But do not pressure them if they decline or ignore your initial request.
  • No copying: You should not take text directly from a copyrighted source and claim it as your own work. This does not apply to public domain or freely-licensed text like that found on Wikipedia. However, more points will be awarded for originality, so use your own words instead of cutting-and-pasting things from another site.

Players

As all players of each Quidditch team have to participate in editing the article, they each have a different role.

Seeker

Seekers orgainise the article to make it better subtitled and suffiecent. They overall try to make the article comprehensive. They fix up any red or broken links that come up in the article. They also make sure that the article has been writen in a balanced way and has no POV. If they are working with an character article, they try to create or improve the "personality and traits" section.

Beaters

Beaters work with adding new images. They also work with the order in which pictures are presented. They also make sure all quotes and pictures are properly sourced. They make sure that the article have flawless grammar and spelling. If they are working with an character article, they with the keepers, try to create or improve the "relationships" section.

Keeper

Keepers clean-up the article to higher quality standard and reference the article. They also search for new items for the "Appearances" and "Sources" sections of an article. They also fix templates and excessive links that come up in the article. If they are working with an character article, they with the beaters, try to create or improve the "relationships" section.

Chasers

Chasers source all information in articles (infoboxes, succession boxes, paragraphs, etc.) with reference tags to relevant source material. They also make sure that there is no speculation or fanon in the article. If they are working with an character article especially for Wizard characters where said powers and/or abilities are stipulated, try to create or improve the "magical skills and abilities" section.

Captains

Captains will particpate in all roles to improve the article. They try to support their team and to monitor their work. A captain also has an another role. (One of the four above)

Role

Captains are expected to set a positive example. They should also be helpful and courteous, not just to members of their own House team, but to the Harry Potter Wiki community as a whole.

Captains should check their Pitches on a regular basis. They should answer questions posted there to the best of their ability and should use the page as a place to organize work on collaborative tasks.

Eligibility

Users who have received a Prefect award and are regularly active on the Wiki are eligible to become Captains.

There can be up to two Captains for each of the four House teams. However, it is acceptable for a House team to have only one Captain at a time, if there is not enough memebrs to ensure the need for an second opening.

Voldemort Cropped Welcome to Project Snakeface! Whether you despise him or you are a faithful Death Eater, the Dark Lord is a important character - If not the second most importanat characters next to Harry Potter! The Dark Lord has always been given faithful service from his Death Eaters in the past, so he wouldn't be surprised if we made a project to use our every last effort to improve his article to it's best. However, the project name has earned me a bit of pain - the Cruciatus Curse - I am sure that with the amount of service that we will giving through this project, he would, er... eventually forgive me.

Disclaimer: Cavalier One, the founder of Project Scarhead, expressed a liking for project names that are both "essentially true" and "whimsical."
