"I know, Fred but it isn't really that fair that Harry gets onto the team but I don't!"
Emilie on Harry Potter being accepted into the Gryffindor Quidditch team.
Emilie was just under 2 months away from turning twelve when she boarded the Hogwarts Express in 1991, where she met Fred and George, impressing them with her knowledge of Quidditch.
Hermione attached herself to Fred and George, following them around and breaking school rules and getting into trouble. On one night, she followed them as they were leaving Gryffindor Tower to hex Draco Malfoy and took the full blame when they were caught. After that, the Weasley twins ,who had found her slightly annoying at first, developed a liking for the troublesome first year and often met her after hours to cause trouble in the school grounds.
The friendship between the three was solidified when, on Halloween in 1991, the three were forced to flee the great hall when a mountain troll was let loose in the school. The Fat Lady had fled her portrait by the time the three had reached theGryffindor Common Room; Emilie saved them all by tactfully blowing a hole in the entrance wall by magicerefore saving the twins and herself from possible death. When many Professors questioned the cause of it, it was George Weasley who took the full blame stating that it was "A complete, accidental mistake Professor"- Knowing Emilie already had double detention from Filch From that point on, the three students were best friends.
"It'll be ok Em, I promise I'll do anything I can to stop this"
George Weasley comforting Emilie.
Emilie was one of the few girls in her year that did not have a crush on Gilderoy Lockhart, who became that year's Defence Against the Dark Arts Professor - much to the delight of the Weasley twins who had a crush on her at the time. (However they're excuse was the fact that their mother was obsessed with him so they were sick of his so-called brilliance). In this year, the Weasley twins made extreme efforts to impress Emilie. For eample, when she was upset about the Chamber Of Secrets hoo-haa, they made a big thing of helping Pomona Sprout growing Mandrake roots (the cure to petrification). Emilie was delighted to become Chaser for the Gryffindor Quidditch team and ,on one occasion, fell off of her broom and was caught by George Weasley - who was once again attempting to gain her affection.
Shortly before Harry Potter murdered Slytherin's Basilisk, Emilie herself was petrified when reading in the Library. The Weasley twins rarely left her bedside until she had recovered.
The summer after year at Hogwarts, Emilie often wrote to Fred and George Weasley, both of whom were happy to have her attention - even on one joyous occasion, Emilie visited The Burrow.
