- "No! You'll do no more murder at Hogwarts!"
- —Professor Flitwick during the Battle of Hogwarts.[src]
Professor Filius Flitwick (b. October 7) was an accomplished Half-goblin wizard and Charms Master at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He was born on October 7th to the Flitwicks, one of which had the distant lineage of a goblin. Flitwick was sent to study magic at Hogwarts School at the age of eleven, and was a model Ravenclaw student, skilled in many branches of wizardry, especially at Charms. After graduating or dropping-out, presumably with an Ordinary Wizarding Level in Charms, he went on to become an accomplished duellist, earning the title or rank of Duelling Champion. Flitwick, at some point, resigned from that profession, and took the post of Charms Master and Head of Ravenclaw House at the school where he himself was educated, Hogwarts. As a professor, he taught many skilled pupils under Headmaster Dumbledore, including Severus Snape, James Potter, Sirius Black and Lily Evans.
At the Sorting ceremony of the 1991–1992 school year, Professor Flitwick witnessed the sorting of Harry Potter, son of his former pupils James and Lily, and was ecstatic to be his teacher. Also during that term, Flitwick used enchanted keys to help protect the Philosopher's Stone, which was being kept at the school for its safety. The following year, one of his students, Penelope Clearwater, was petrified by Salazar Slytherin's Basilisk, who had been released from the Chamber of Secrets, and he later agreed that Hogwarts should close for the other students' safety. Thankfully, the closure did not occur, and the school resumed as normal. In 1993, Sirius Black escaped from Azkaban and Flitwick had to help search the castle after he broke into Hogwarts. Also that year, Flitwick and the Flying Instructor, Rolanda Hooch, were tasked with checking Harry Potter's Firebolt broomstick once Minerva McGonagall suspected Black had sent it in with a jinx, hex or curse on it. The following year, the professor helped out with the Triwizard Tournament, opposed Dolores Umbridge in 1995, participated in the Battle of the Astronomy Tower in 1997, and fought in the Battle of Hogwarts the year after. He survived the war, and likely continued to teach further generations.

- "Dumbledore and Flitwick, those model students..."
- —A brief description of Flitwick's time at Hogwarts.[src]

Added by SmonoccoFlitwick was born into a wizarding family, albeit one with the descent of a goblin, and was sent to be educated in magic at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in Scotland. He was placed into Ravenclaw House during the Sorting ceremony and was a model student there. He was particularly skilled in Charms and Defence Against the Dark Arts, and at some point queried the Grey Lady on the whereabouts of Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem, but she refused to tell him.
