Uric the Oddball is famous for his eccentricity, especially for wearing a jellyfish for a hat. He is considered to be one of the weirdest wizards in history.
Uric was known to have slept in a room with fifty pet Augureys. During one extremely rainy night, the moaning from the Augureys convinced Uric that he was dead and was now a ghost. He attempted to walk through the walls of his house, resulting in what his biographer, Radolphus Pittiman, described as a "ten-day concussion".
Uric once tried to convince the Wizards' Council that the song of the Fwooper was actually beneficial rather than harmful. After listening to it for three months without a break, he presented his findings. It did not start well, as he turned up wearing nothing but a toupee that, on further inspection, was revealed to be a dead badger.
Professor Binns often mixes him up with Emeric the Evil during his History of Magic lessons.
