- Hermione Granger: "I can't see why it would be in the Restricted Section. It looks like a normal book on the practical use of spells."
- Harry Potter: "That's it then. Practical use! I bet Umbridge had it put there to stop us practising any more spells"

History
Edit
During the 1995–1996 school year at Hogwarts, High Inquisitor Dolores Umbridge had the copy of this book put in the Restricted Section in order to prevent the students from practising magic.
However, the copy ended up charmed to behave like a bird and escaped the Restricted Section. When Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley and Harry Potter went into the Library to look for a book on Murtlap Essence, they instead found this book. Hermione borrowed it to learn some practical spells. Later in the school year, this book was used as a guide during some of the Dumbledore's Army lessons.
