- "Something caught him around the ankles and he fell spectacularly, skidding along on his front for six feet before coming to a halt. Someone behind him was laughing."
- — Description.[src]
A Trip Jinx (incantation unknown) is used to make people trip and fall over.
Known uses
- This jinx was used by Draco Malfoy in 1996 on Harry Potter, while the Inquisitorial Squad captured members of Dumbledore's Army fleeing from the Room of Requirement. As the group had been informed by Dobby that Professor Umbridge had found out about Dumbledore's Army, the members went into flight, most escaped, but Harry Potter was captured with the use of this spell.
- Bellatrix Lestrange used this Jinx on Fenrir Greyback to make him fall in Malfoy Manor.
Behind the scenes
- In LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4, it can be bought at Wiseacre's Wizarding Equipment in Diagon Alley.
- This jinx may be related to the Stickfast Hex.
