Thomas McGruder was a Slytherin student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the 1990s. During the 1996–1997 school year, he blocked the door at one end of the Stone Bridge, forcing Harry Potter to duel with him in order to get past.
Etymology

The name "Thomas" is the Greek form of the Aramaic name תָּאוֹמָא (Ta'oma') which meant "twin".
