The Thief's Curse is a spell that can be applied to books. Its effect is not fully understood, but it activates if someone tries to read a book for too long without paying for it. This curse is known to be imbued on the Hogwarts Library's copy of Quidditch Through the Ages and on Harry Potter's copy of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
