|The Tale of the Three Brothers|
The Tale of the Three Brothers is an upcoming independent short film based on the short story of the same name, first featured in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and later included in The Tales of Beedle the Bard (however in the deathly Hallows it is said to have come from the Tales of Beedle the Bard). It is being written and directed by Sydney Hazzard and Brandon Doyen, two students at the New England School of Communications, under license from Warner Bros., who own the film rights to the Harry Potter series.
An open casting call will be held on 3 September, 2013 for parts for the film. Known roles being cast include an old man and his grandchild. Filming will begin in the fall and is expected to take the majority of the school year. The film is planned to be shown at various film festivals after its completion.
The grandfather (approximately ages sixty to seventy-five) and the young boy (approximately ages eight to ten) will be the two main characters of the piece. It will be filmed used a camera from the Red Digital Cinema Camera Company.
The rest of the roles includes three males (eighteen to thirty years old), a young girl (five to ten years old), two males (twenty to fifty years old) and one female (eighteen to thirty years old).
