The Tale of the Three Brothers is an upcoming independent short film based on the short story of the same name, first featured in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and later included in The Tales of Beedle the Bard. It is being written by Sydney Hazzard and Brandon Doyen, and directed by Brandon Doyen, they are students at the New England School of Communications, under license from Warner Bros., who own the film rights to the Harry Potter series.
An open casting call was be held on 3 September, 2013 for parts for the film. Principale photography has been completed for the film and it is expected to premiere sometime in April. The film is planned to be shown at various film festivals after its completion.[1]
A grandfather[1] and a young boy will be the two main characters of the piece. The project was filmed using a RED Epic camera from the Red Digital Cinema Camera Company.[2]
The rest of the roles include three males (eighteen to thirty years old), a young girl (five to ten years old), two males (twenty to fifty years old) and one female (eighteen to thirty years old).[1]
