The Medieval Assembly of European Wizards was a European wizarding organisation operating across continental Europe[1]. They may have had some relation to the International Warlock Convention of 1289, with which a sub-committee of Sardinian sorcerers was involved in September of that year[1].

By the 1980s, this society was still existing in some form, and had awarded Gilderoy Lockhart a "Bravery Against Fantastic Beasts Award", presumably due to his autobiographical series on Defence Against the Dark Arts[2].

Professor Cuthbert Binns assigned his second year History of Magic students an essay on this assembly in the 1992–1993 school year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry[1]. Although Ronald Weasley's essay only measured two feet and two inches, Hermione Granger had written four feet seven inches in writing that was described by her acquaintances as being tiny[1].
