The tarantula hawk, also known as the tarantula hawk wasp, is a type of wasp so named because it hunts tarantulas.^[1] They have a poisonous and extremely painful sting. Hogwarts Castle had an infestation of these bugs during the 1992-1993^[2] and 1993-1994 school years.
