Tanya Grotter is a Russian series of books with numerous similarities to the Harry Potter book series. The series has been targeted with numerous lawsuits by J. K. Rowling and her publicists for violations of copyright. Although unable to prevent its publication in Russia, Rowling has had some success in blocking the Grotter series from being translated or published internationally.
