The Yule Ball takes place and Christmas Eve night and not on Christmas Day i have changed this on the Article Page--Hogwarts09 09:01, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

- In the movie, his dance parter was Minerva McGonagall. In the novel, he had several dance partners : Olympe Maxime and Pomona Sprout. I don't think adults had really dates for the Yule Ball, they just danced together.((so it's possible he danced too with Minerva)). Optional?[]

It was optional. The book states that more students than usual stayed at Hogwarts over Christmas than usual, but not all. Also, first to third years were not allowed to take part, unless invited by older students.--Rodolphus (talk) 21:37, December 29, 2013 (UTC)
