If I remember correctly, didn't Ollivander "weigh" the wands manually? --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 12:30, February 19, 2010 (UTC)

There was an instrument like this in OotP at the Security desk in the Ministry Atrium, I think. --JKochRavenclawcrest(Owl Me!) 19:35, February 19, 2010 (UTC)
I think that's possible that the Ollivander weigh the wands manually. Like it was done at the Triwizard Tournament. At least, capacity and skills to that, he had. Reading this text, I understood that it is talking about the Ministry of Magic's machine and not about the character Ollivander. Andre G. Dias (talk) 15:52, February 11, 2014 (Brazil)

Anyone knows what was the purpose of this job in the Ministry of Magic? Was it to discover something wrong or illegal? Andre G. Dias (talk) 15:54, February 11, 2014 (Brazil)

I always assumed it was so that the Ministry would have record of the person's name and wand information so the person couldn't get a new wand if they broke the law. Or something like that. --Hunnie Bunn (talk) 01:05, March 25, 2014 (UTC)
