You can't use the the thievery here it has to be "theft". You might want to change that.24.18.163.5 17:20, January 10, 2013 (UTC)

I think the language policy for this wiki is that articles should be in British English, because it's a UK book series by a UK author. (Hence some of my edits, such as "snuck" to "sneaked"; according to one grammar guide I've seen, "snuck" is technically wrong even in American English, but there's definitely no such word in British English.) As far as I know, "thievery" is correct in British English. — RobertATfm (talk) 19:16, January 10, 2013 (UTC)
It sounds awkward, though. "Thievery" is usually used to refer to the practice of thieving (i.e. "Thieves engage in thievery"), but I think the work "theft" would be more apt in this situation, which refers to the act in itself. Besides, under the British Theft Act 1968, a person who "dishonestly appropriates property belonging to another with the intention of permanently depriving the other of it" is guilty of theft (granted, perhaps that was not the correct terminology in the law of the Founders' time, but it's the most accurate term by modern standards). --  Seth Cooper  owl post! 23:02, January 10, 2013 (UTC)
